Thursday, December 29, 2005. We spent a day doing the touristy thing in Kyoto earlier in the month with a couple of old schoolmates of Pete's. We visited a few temples and shrines with our trusty tour guide Paul, who is actually a volunteer English speaking tour guide. It was fantastic to be able to gain an insight into some of the history and being able to have questions answered was even better. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Osaka. Thursday, October 27, 2005. In August, our landlord took us out sailing on his yacht and a friend's with some of his other tennants. We had an awesome day. We set sail at about 9.30am and not long after the first of too many beers were cracked (this is not something I indulge in too often! Seriously though, it was delicious. Sunday, November 27, 2005. Last month we made the 3 hour trip to Iga Ueno, home of the Ninja. It was a great day out, but it was absolutely freezing cold! We had to change trains about 3 times along the way, but the hassle was all worth it in the end. Other than the castle and the museum, there wasn't a lot to see. Sunday, March 26, 2006. Plums, not Cherries. Last Friday it was an absolutely glorious day, so we decided to head down to the plum garden at Osaka Castle for a picnic lunch.
