Nulenur is the place where Appa settled down with his Family for his livelihood. He also built a house in this village. Both his Father and he were the Shanbog (village Tax collector) and held a respectable position in the village. It is here that he was embraced by his Gurus Sri Shankara Bhagawan and Sri Dattaraja Yogeendra Sadguru. Dattashrama was the First ashrama established by Appa. Member: ( 91)9448069058 (Shri Atmaram).

The Temple cum Ashrama complex comprises of the renovated Shrines for Lord Ranganatha and Godess Lakshmi and the newly constructed shrines for Anjaneya and Ganapathi. Not only is the installed Lingam with a proportionate Pithika one of the largest observed, its shikhara is also in the form of Lingam complete with a Pithika. So that looking at the temple dome would also mean seeing Lord Shiva. A devotion hall (Lecture Hall) was also built alongside the temple. Outside walls of the temple were decorated with Chheetar.
