seriouslightwrite: this week
http://seriouslightwrite.blogspot.com/2010/08/this-week.html
Monday, 2 August 2010. Oops The year has gone by and now I'm waiting results (due this week)I feel ambivalent about this course, as my marks haven't been that good. (67, 68, 79,66, 81)I learnt a few techniques, but were they worth £600? Oh what a long sentence. Not very elegant. Have I learnt anything at all. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). seriouslightwrite: October 2009
http://seriouslightwrite.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html
Monday, 19 October 2009. Well, first week has been and gone, and I have nearly finished the second week's work. I've done most of the exercises, but only first drafts and nothing very polished. I just don't want to fall behind. Nothing I've done so far grabs me as worth developing, so I'll just leave it all in my A363 folder for future perusal. I did, however, quite like the following poem. It’s hard here waiting on letters. Lonely, longing for phone calls. No trace of a place of our own yet. I completed...

seriouslightwrite: September 2009
http://seriouslightwrite.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 9 September 2009. Well, I haven't done any OU work since the last post. Told you it wouldn't last. Anyway, here's a piccy of my desk before I tidied it up. I suppose I'd better take a piccy of it tidy before it all deteriorates again. Links to this post. Saturday, 5 September 2009. Apparently I shouldn't be publishing any work here, as I might want to use it for my marked work, and if the OU anti-plagiarising tools trawl the 'net and find it I could be accused of plagiarising my own work.

seriouslightwrite: Oops.
http://seriouslightwrite.blogspot.com/2009/09/oops.html
Saturday, 5 September 2009. Apparently I shouldn't be publishing any work here, as I might want to use it for my marked work, and if the OU anti-plagiarising tools trawl the 'net and find it I could be accused of plagiarising my own work. So I'll just have to use this blog for recording feelings about the course I suppose. I'll keep the offending two posts on, and make sure I don't develop them into stories until after the course finishes. Hi, I thought about that too but as long as you can prove its you...

seriouslightwrite: My desk

Wednesday, 9 September 2009. Well, I haven't done any OU work since the last post. Told you it wouldn't last. Anyway, here's a piccy of my desk before I tidied it up. I suppose I'd better take a piccy of it tidy before it all deteriorates again. Lucky you to have your course materials so soon! Im still waiting. Is it true about blog posting work that we submit for TMAs? I was planning to do this, in fact I already have posted some stuff that I was planning to use. Enjoyed reading your work so far.

seriouslightwrite: March 2009
http://seriouslightwrite.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 18 March 2009. Well, I have a Writing Blog with Wordpress, and I think I prefer that. However, just for the record, I got 95% for my short story TMA and 94% for my poetry TMA so I'm a well happy bunny. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. seriouslightwrite: 2nd exercise
http://seriouslightwrite.blogspot.com/2009/09/2nd-exercise.html
Wednesday, 2 September 2009. We are looking at genres, and how the author can play around with them. We had to write 500 words for the beginning of a story (and playing with genres) I decided to do post-apocalyptic cum fairy tale. Here it is. Activity 1.5 (Start story (500 words) in one of the genres mentioned. Go with and/or against the grain of the genre. Tanda picked her way over the dusty rubble, cursing her lack of footwear. Dust choked her mouth and dried out her eyes. Where was she?

seriouslightwrite: August 2009
http://seriouslightwrite.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html
Sunday, 30 August 2009. Oooh getting excited about A363. I've spent the last two days sorting out my study and I've thrown away so much. I've have found about 15 notebooks. I buy them if I'm away on a course - use the first few pages - and file them away. So I AM NOT GOING TO BUY ANY MORE NOTE BOOKS. (Well, I bought one for A363 a while ago, so that doesn't count.). John and I have got rid of all cheap biros, and resurrected various Parkers, Scheaffers (sp? So I'm up for a distinction! Links to this post.

seriouslightwrite: September 2008
http://seriouslightwrite.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 9 September 2008. I enrolled for this OU course a while ago and am awaiting the materials. Apparently there is a problem so delivery has been delayed. Luckily I can access them via the web so have downloaded the pdf files. The first week is about writers' block. 'They' obviously want us to feel confident about writing. We are then given 2 techniques to free up our creativity. 1) Freewriting (where we write quickly on a topic and silence our internal critic). Links to this post.
