Lundi 13 avril 2009. Easter Weekend Part 1 - Mas de la Chapelle. This weekend we were in the beautiful city of Arles. Unfortunately for us, the weather was highly unfavourable and most of it was rainy and cold, therefore squashing many of our ourdoor plans this weekend. Thank goodness we had a Heaven-on-Earth hotel to enjoy. Kathleen, blown away by our amazing room. The view from our window. Our furry companion, Chekhov, one of the many dogs belonging to the hotel owner. Sitting by our room.

Jeudi 28 mai 2009. Off to the land of chocolates, watches and diplomacy! Our first stop was a photo exhibition of wars taking place around the world. Our World at War". Quite a sombering start to the day, but well worth it. One of many Chocolatiers in the city. There was a little factory inside which we'd wanted to visit but didn't know we had to make prior reservations for a visit. Godiva hot chocolate. oh god. All cities have a Vieille Ville,. Where the Geneva Conventions were signed.

Jeudi 28 mai 2009. Lyon is France's 3rd most populated city and is a hotspot for art and food. It was very easy to see why! Les Halles are where one gets the finest of all glorious, edible goodness. Lyon's Halles delivered! Pastry shop with the most amazing macaroons and lemon tarts in the world. Mouth-watering fruits. Seriously, I've never seen fruits look so good. It smelt like shit. Most strong cheeses do. One of maybe 10 of the churches in the city. Number 2 along the way. Cool paintings on the walls!
