The Resplendent Mango: 08/01/2004 - 09/01/2004
http://resplendentmango.blogspot.com/2004_08_01_archive.html
Thoughts, politics, soapbox rampages, amusing quotes, and excellent names for rock bands. Τρίτη, Αυγούστου 31, 2004. Stand up comedy is probably not in the Bush girls' future. Posted by mango @ 10:29 μ.μ. Lt Gov Michael Steele of Maryland had what could be the best line of the evening: "John Kerry said he doesn't want to use "war" to describe our struggle against global terror. Well, I don't want to use 'Commander in Chief' to describe John Kerry! Applause, jubilation, dancing in the aisles, etc.). This ...

McTANK: Vigilante 'Net?
http://mctank.blogspot.com/2005/11/vigilante-net.html
Sunday, November 27, 2005. I posted this comment on LGF and I need to post it here in case anybody actually HAS an idea or interest and wants to say something about it. Now, rather than spending another 5 years ranting about it (which we'll do anyway), I think it is the time for conservatives at the grassroots level. By muslims within the USA even as I type. No, I am not suggesting counter terrorism, but there are other things besides publicity and contact-campaigns that can be done). Sigh I have other d...

McTANK: Nice article on the Crusades
http://mctank.blogspot.com/2005/11/nice-article-on-crusades.html
Sunday, November 13, 2005. Nice article on the Crusades. When I was in school, I was taught that the Crusades were basically a shining example of how messed up religion was, because all those Catholics just tromped on over to the middle east and brutally murdered everybody and stole their gold. The primary lesson was that religion was stupid and dangerous, and that Saladin (one of the Crusades' leaders) was a Noble guy. An actual historian puts the Crusades in a nutshell: worth reading. Wednesday, November 30, 2005. Those Poor Misguided Murderers. I fault myself for being stupid enough to think that Sheehan's motherly grief had simply ". Her I fault myself for being stupid enough to think that the recent surreal mentality of the anti-Freedom group that got some of its members kidnapped by sending them to Iraq in the middle of a warzone, was somehow unique. Let's see a local, American example of these two mentalities combined:. Yahoo News carries a NY Post article. Every day, my son and ...

McTANK: Priorities
http://mctank.blogspot.com/2005/11/priorities.html
Sunday, November 20, 2005. I've been rethinking the blog idea. You know, I could spend time every day- several times a day- ranting about things I feel like ranting about. But then, I wouldn't be spending enough time on the things that matter to me. Like my little girl, or some of my personal pursuits. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Those Poor Misguided Murderers. McTANK: The Hypocrisy of Liberals for Minorities
http://mctank.blogspot.com/2005/11/hypocrisy-of-liberals-for-minorities.html
Friday, November 25, 2005. The Hypocrisy of Liberals for Minorities. When the current Republican President appointed someone black, and someone female, and someone mexican (must I say 'hispanic'? To some of the top positions of responsibility in the entire country, the people who were conservatives were not surprised. Why should they be? The people nominated were intelligent and competent. Who cares what race or gender they are? The Democrats can say over and over, directly and indirectly, on TV, in movi...

McTANK: Backsliding into Jesus
http://mctank.blogspot.com/2005/11/backsliding-into-jesus.html
Sunday, November 27, 2005. The "extremism" of my country has, I believe, driven me to be more extreme than I would have been otherwise. If the political and religious fringes seemed more reasonable, I suspect I would feel more passive. I can only thank them, I suppose, for waking me up. Today reality hit home with spirit, and I couldn't be more surprised. And then I settled down to not give a damn about anything to do with the religion subject for some years. The last few weeks I've been changing inside&...

McTANK: Changing culture from the inside

Monday, November 14, 2005. Changing culture from the inside. I posted this as a way-too-long comment on another blog about a week ago, and thought I ought to post it as an entry on my own blog. I think the responsibility. For integration into a culture lies with those immigrating, because it cannot be done any other way. Forced to grow from the inside out. By its members making a place for themselves within it. A house divided against itself will fall. 1] What women accomplish in the. 1] No, not Lincoln!

McTANK: The Rich and the White
http://mctank.blogspot.com/2005/11/rich-and-white.html
Friday, November 25, 2005. The Rich and the White. One of the things I find most fascinating about the current leftist politics in the USA are the staggeringly patronizing assumptions made toward non-whites. Apparently they assume that if you aren't white, you are also deaf, blind and stupid. How many times have I heard or read someone saying to a given group of people (such as the poor, or the black, or whatever), "Those *rich white* Republicans are NOT your friend, trust me! What nonsense is that?
