Laquo; Not like the other mothers. Michigan, the Civil War, and Lewis Cass. June 29, 2011 by sharingourpast. Michigan, the Civil War, and Lewis Cass. An American flag was unfurled over the Board of Trade, a big building downtown, and the crowds went wild. Some said Cass was kind of a windbag, but isn’t that often a politician’s burden? In any case, I wondered why Michigan wanted to hear what General Cass had to say? From law school to the U.S. Army, fighting as a General in the War of 1812. So he ran for...

Our Poems
Sharing our words, our thoughts.pieces of ourselves. Sunday, July 29, 2007. Love creeps softly.steals your heart. Moment by moment, part by part. Quiet assurance holds your hand. And you trust and hold on. The smiles, the laughter, even the tears. Weave a strong, special friendship. That can last through the years. And slowly, so slowly, your heart opens doors. Until one day, you find out it's no longer yours. Written Tuesday, June 24, 1997. I stand and look at you. And see so many dreams come true.

Our Precious Moments
Monday, May 6, 2013. Tick Tock. 39 Weeks Today! According to the scale this morning I'm around 21 pounds, which means I lost a few over the last week. How big is baby? 38: Celery Bunch; Week 39: Mini Watermelon. Still get sleep at night but have a hard time falling back to sleep after my bathroom trips, which range from 1-3 times per night. Going out for a fun dinner with friends (Melissa, Dan, Serenella and Mike). This is a new category but I felt the need to document two things I'm not too happy about.

Sharing Our Recipes
Wednesday, July 28, 2010. This is probably my all time favorite summer salad. It is just so yummy! And it's pretty easy to throw together. Try it, I know you will love it! 16 oz spiral pasta. 1-2 chicken breasts cooked, cubed and completely cooled (I cheat here. I always use the canned chicken from costco. 1 can works great and it really tastes just fine). Bunch of red grapes. 2-3 stalks green onion. 1 can pineapple, drained. 2 lbs Red Potatoes washed with skins on. 6 eggs, hard boiled. 1 cup karo syrup.
