Thursday, 3 July 2014. Up the guts of the Goldfields. I have just discovered the name of the unnamed Gnamma hole and added it in. The tank and feed system was built circa 1936/37. Surrounding the area are stone lined wells from the late 1800's. Passing a rocky outcrop, Mt Jackson is seen on the horizon to the East. And by 1530 I finally made the old Mt Jackson Homestead Ruin. Pectoral fin length shorter than length of head. Maximum recorded size 4.45m but more commonly 2m. Size at birth 60-70cm. Coastal and oceanic in depths of up to 500m. Prefers clear water over turbid. Often seen swimming just below the surface with first dorsal fin visible. Circumtropical and temperate in waters usually warmer than 16 degrees.
