Jones and Cole: September 2014
http://mjhdesignarts.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Tuesday, September 30, 2014. I'm not sure where my love of containers came from. Perhaps it's a spiritual thing. We all are vessels meant to contain life and love and memories and the breath of God. Meant to hold and share our creative spirits. Lately I've been buying a few buckets. they are definitely not a Southern California "thing" but that hasn't held me back. Roberto just finished spiffing up this Regency Oak and Brass wine bucket. It also features lion's head handles and brass lion's paw feet.

Jones and Cole: August 2015
http://mjhdesignarts.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
Monday, August 24, 2015. SOMETIMES YOU'RE HOT.and sometimes you're not. About two weeks ago I blogged about these two very different pieces of art that I had just acquired- -and they both sold today. And I was not even there to make it happen (maybe that was a good thing? By hot I mean that sometimes I'm in the flow of life and have caught a glimpse of where I'm supposed to be and what I'm supposed to do- and, amazingly, I'm paying attention and follow my intuition, that quiet voice. Just look a the perf...

Jones and Cole: JUST A QUICKIE
http://mjhdesignarts.blogspot.com/2015/07/just-quickie.html
Saturday, July 18, 2015. Jones went to the groomer yesterday- doesn't he look handsome? And, best of all, he is almost fully recovered from vestibular desease. It is hard to believe that my boy had his 9th birthday earlier this month. And now for an update shot of Cole who pretends to be not too smart. And finally an update on Mia. Have a wonderful summer week-end. Mary and Jones and Cole. Posted by MJH Design Arts. Labels: Childrens hospital OC. Update on Mia. St. Judes hospital Tennessee.

Jones and Cole: November 2014
http://mjhdesignarts.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Sunday, November 30, 2014. Emily was my niece. Emily came from an upper middle class family; her father is a high-level scientist and her mother was a high-level international banker. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate her nuclear family as 8.5 on the dysfunctional scale. Her mother, despite my warnings, remained in complete denial- saying that Emily simply looked great now that she was watching her weight. Only a month ago, I had Emily all lined up to be hospitalized for another condition, which would ...

Jones and Cole: I HAD A DATE WITH JIMMI (HENDRIX)
http://mjhdesignarts.blogspot.com/2015/07/i-had-date-with-jimmi-hendrix.html
Wednesday, July 29, 2015. I HAD A DATE WITH JIMMI (HENDRIX). Tonight I went on an unscheduled date with Jimmi Hendrix. That's Jimmi in the photo- - Ethan is my first born grandson who is a singer/song writer, surfer, skater, and who just turned 16. Ethan adores Jimmi Hendrix (who doesn't? There is nothing quite like being 16- halfway between adulthood and childhood and taking your Nana on a date. And super smart, too. Mary, Jones and Cole. Posted by MJH Design Arts. Jones and Cole: 17th c./18th c. IMAGINARY BIRDS & FLORA
http://mjhdesignarts.blogspot.com/2015/07/17th-c18th-c-imaginary-birds-flora.html
Tuesday, July 21, 2015. 17th c./18th c. IMAGINARY BIRDS and FLORA. I love interjecting animals and flora into a room- they add so much life and positive energy. I think that these paintings would look good in a modern room, as they are very angular and the black background adds just the needed counterpoint. Here are a few detail shots. Sending blessing for a fantastic week with play time, and lazy summer days. I hope that the Northeast cools down pretty soon- you guys are not used to all that heat. Enter...

Jones and Cole: STUFF--SOMETIMES IT DOES MAKE YOU HAPPY
http://mjhdesignarts.blogspot.com/2015/07/stuff-sometimes-it-does-make-you-happy.html
Sunday, July 19, 2015. STUFF- SOMETIMES IT DOES MAKE YOU HAPPY. Contrary to the popular saying and despite the fact that I'm not very materialistic or consumer oriented, some times "stuff" does make me happy. The stuff that makes me the happiest is to see a project that I envisioned FINALLY materialize. Like the leather clad tables above. I've been blogging about this adventure for at least a year and then some. I found 4 c. 1980s (1970s? In the chorizo) and delicious. It is made with Trader Joe's so...

Jones and Cole: October 2014
http://mjhdesignarts.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Sunday, October 26, 2014. Two of my heroes died this week. Ben Bradlee and Oscar de la Renta. I came to age when these larger than life men were coming into their prime years of achievement. Ben Bradlee- charismatic and daring, publishing what no other had dared. Oscar de la Renta- equally charismatic and the perfect gentleman who chose to improve the lives of those he touched. I'm still tearing up as I write this- and I never knew these gentlemen. Posted by MJH Design Arts. Oscar de la renta. But, I dig...

Jones and Cole: February 2015
http://mjhdesignarts.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Thursday, February 26, 2015. JUST A FIRST PASS- LITTLE PARIS LOS ANGELES. It was a busy day as some of my inventory went to Little Paris and some went to Pasadena. Here are just a couple of shots of my initial set up at Little Paris- still have to bring art, the Chinese horseshoes chairs, etc. It's looking rather bare- but it will soon fill up with details- art makes a huge difference. I took the Fortuny Pillows to Pasadena; perhaps I'll bring some over here next week. Mary and Jones and Cole. To think; ...
