Prior to doing that though I use temp pins and rough shape the guards. A close to finish dimension guard. 6 guards ready to attach, all sanded out to 15 micron ;close to 1000 grit. Unfortunately, in my teens I had no idea who Bob Loveless was or what a Chute knife was. During the '80s everybody was familiar with the Rambo knives, Predator knives, and the Buckmaster (Buck Knives model 184); all supposedly the ultimate survival/fighting knife. Sharpwerks Knives and Tools. Sunday, August 5, 2012. HIDI part 10; Finished! HIDI part 9; handles. The fixture I use for drilling straight holes in handle material being attached to a tapered tang. It is super high tech; some scrap aluminum and a 1-2-3 block. I clamp onto the ricasso; the center line is parallel to the fixture and thus I can drill a straight hole through the handle material. I use a couple drops of cyanoacrylate and Micarta wedges to support the handle scale. Glued, screwed and drying.

Sharpwerks Knives and Tools. Saturday, October 5, 2013. It's been a while.this year and life in general have been interesting! Since my last post I have blown all my goals out of the water. Once I figured out that people would be interested in my knives I made certain goals for myself. One of these was to try and get a picture. In a magazine some time during 2014. Sharpwerks Knives and Tools. Sunday, February 9, 2014. Small Integral Loveless patterns. A number of knife makers have made "Integral" Loveless pattern knives. They are nice but in my mind there was something missing. You can make a knife to a specific silhouette/profile but still completely miss the mark if short cuts are taken.
