S/V Andante: June 2011
http://svandante.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
Musings by Alison. Imagery by Russ. Corner Brook, Newfoundland. June 27, 2011. My procrastination has finally caught up with me! We just left on another trip and the blog hasn’t finished our 2009 trip so . . . the decision has been made to “be present”. There’ll be quite a bit of time this summer when we won’t have internet contact so I’ll try to use that time to tell some more tales of our 2009 adventure. Posted by S/V Andante. ~S/V Nanu~ Eric and Rachael's Pacific Adventure: Freshwater Fun...!
http://nanuinmexico.blogspot.com/2010/05/most-recent-thing-we-ate-eric-0.html
Tuesday, May 25, 2010. Most recent thing we ate:. Eric: 0.9 peso bread from Mega with butter. Rachael: 0.9 peso bread from Mega with cream cheese. 812200 HAM net weather. We're hoping for a weater window to head north. What are we planning on doing today:. Getting our propane tanks filled. Apparently the marina will do it in La Cruz. What's the first thing you'll eat when you get to an "American" grocery store:. Eric: Nothing really. But I do miss pesto sauce. and I wouldn't mind salami. We left Punta Mi...

~S/V Nanu~ Eric and Rachael's Pacific Adventure: Can't help but smile...
http://nanuinmexico.blogspot.com/2010/05/cant-help-but-smile.html
Wednesday, May 5, 2010. Can't help but smile. So I can't help but smile as we sit in Punta Mita anchorage sipping red wine and recalling the last two weeks of adventures. But much more has happened other than surfing these days. It's been a wonderful blur of dinners with friends, sailing adventures and cultural celebrations that take place nowhere else, except wonderful Mexico. Adam (Estrella), Chris, Eric and I are the surf bums and spend alot of time out at the "Bahia". After I ran out of my last pair ...

Sailing Britannia: November 2011
http://sailingbritannia.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Friday, November 25, 2011. The passage of cascading failures and the wrong wind. From Tonga to New Zealand. Maybe we should have taken the signs more seriously. I mean, sailors as a group are superstitious, and we are sailors now. Fixing the shroud in the Opua marina. The next day, still splashing and bashing I smelled something aweful and toxic. What could it be? Draining water from the fuel filter underway in the night. The crew in good spirits. Krister and Joe enjoying the sunshine and calm. Always ke...

Sailing Britannia: Holidays down-under
http://sailingbritannia.blogspot.com/2012/12/holidays-down-under.html
Thursday, December 27, 2012. Krister and I continue to enjoy ourselves in Brisbane. The holidays are not the same as when we were kids, or when we were in the States, but they are jolly fun anyway. White boomers, Christmas crackers, minced pies, custard, and summery picnics with friends. Christmas day cruiser picnic. Opening a Christmas cracker. Christmas morning on Convivia; Lego mania! Merry Christmas Britannia; our new fiberglass propane tank! Wishing you all happy adventures! Merry Christmas you two!

Sailing Britannia: More on Vanuatu
http://sailingbritannia.blogspot.com/2012/11/more-on-vanuatu.html
Tuesday, November 27, 2012. I'm sorry these didn't get posted and written about sooner. Our time in Vanuatu was too short so I spent most of it out seeing as much as I could before we had to leave. We had a great time celebrating our 6th anniversary, eating out, visiting the markets and getting away from town to see Mele Cascades waterfalls. Here are the highlights. Mele Cascades; waterfall near Port Vila. Very easy hike to the top, including handrails for walking over slippery rocks. A sprouted coconut;...

S/V Andante: Killing Time
http://svandante.blogspot.com/2013/07/killing-time.html
Musings by Alison. Imagery by Russ. Sloop Harbour, Labrador. July 6, 2013. Killing time . . . it’s not something that comes natural to us. Seems we’re always juggling multiple projects, working a deadline, saying, “If we just had 2 more weeks we could get it all done.”. So maybe enforced idleness is a good thing . . . We’ve been pushing hard to get up here so we can have as long a time as possible north of Nain. But we’ve been keeping an eye on the ice too. Pack ice that is. Yep, that was the pack. That ...

Sailing Britannia: An Update
http://sailingbritannia.blogspot.com/2013/05/an-update.html
Sunday, May 26, 2013. It's late. And tomorrow is my last day of work. Again. So I'll keep this short. Krister and I have been working in the Bay Area for the last five months, but we're about to leave on another adventure next Friday. We've been haphazardly getting ready, making plans and figuring "things" out. So what's next for us? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Le Morne Brabant: Hike. Where are Shawn and Chris? Wedding Day: Our Commitments. Blue Moon NZbound: SailBlogs. It’s cold here!

S/V Andante: September 2013
http://svandante.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
Musings by Alison. Imagery by Russ. And The Oscar Goes to . . . Sloop Harbour, Labrador. August 12, 2013. No story would exist without its cast of characters and we’ve had some memorable ones on this trip. They’re big, inquisitive, smart, furry, white, the biggest land predator today, known as Nanuk in the Inuit language, they are polar beaers. It seems fitting to wrap up our cast of characters here in Sloop where we saw our first bear on this trip. If we’d had any idea how much kipping. We saw 2 bears i...
