Si javais su, je ne laurais pas dû. To my peeps in Ottawa. To my peeps in Ottawa. OH BABY, I just found out one of my favourite events in Ottawa is happening this evening. At 5:45pm, they're turning on the Christmas lights on Parliament Hill and Confederation Boulevard, and all the other national monuments, about 70 in total. If you can get yourself to the Hill for then, they also have free hot chocolate and Beavertails for you! Soif you can, go! Tell me about it when you get back! Hee Glad someone went!

Wed, Aug. 9th, 2006, 08:37 pm. Wow, so I haven't updated in a loooooooooooong time, long with a capital loooong. I just got back the other day from a month long immersion french course in La Pocatiere Quebec. It was tellement geniale, I learned a ton. After a couple of days back I miss everything, the people and the new experiences, also the quebec beer and high grade poutine. Thoughts of escaping Waterloo on schedule this fall are right in the front of my mind. Thu, Aug. 10th, 2006 01:58 am (UTC). Mon, ...

My life with the occasional political or sports talk. Tuesday, September 26, 2006. From Where I Sit. As appearing on www.radioowensound.com. So who is getting excited this fall's municipal elections? I doubt too many of you are, just look at voter turnout rates. Sometimes I think that's because these elections don't make it easy for us to vote down party lines. We have to actually. learn about who we're voting for. I know, that's a heck of a lot of work, but I think we can do it. Our councillors and mayo...

It's -40 out here! - Scott in Calgary

It's -40 out here! It's -40 out here! At least with the windchill. it's a balmy -25 without it. Calgary is usually fairly warm at this time of year. Lol it'll be a cold day in hell (Calgary) before Ted Morton is premier! Honest Ed got a few big endorsements today, eh? Indeed, though I don't think many of Oberg's supporters will follow him to Ed. They're more likely to support Morton on the issues. Same goes for Norris' people. Most of them probably won't vote at all. Wonder if they'll call in the army.

Life imitates art - Scott in Calgary. This was actually written by the Calgary Herald's chief political reporter in today's paper:. The buzz started early about a Freight Train called Ted Morton.". Not quite the "Dr. Morton, your campaign seems to have the momentum of a runaway freight train. Why are you so popular? I was hoping for, but close enough. Final Results from First Round Voting:. Jim Dinning 29,470 or 30%. Ted Morton 25,614 or 26%. Ed Stelmach 14,967 or 15%. Lyle Oberg 11,638 or 12%. I'm still...

Thu, Apr. 20th, 2006, 02:26 pm. Wrote what could have been my last final exam ever yesterday morning. The prof emailed us our marks today, which makes it the fastest turnaround for a course that I've ever seen. Anyways, got the summer started the right way after the exam by strolling to Uptown for patio beer. I got The Satanic Verses which I'd been meaning to read for a long time but had never got around to because the library copy was always on "missing" status. AFX - Chosen Lords.

My life with the occasional political or sports talk. Thursday, June 01, 2006. Today I'm off to Toronto to get on a plane and fly to Europe for the very first time. It still hasn't sunk in since I got up at 4 this morning to work the morning shift. I really enjoy doing it the couple times I have. You get a chance to do a little bit of banter with the morning host - something I havn't done very much of so it's clearly a work in progress - but I enjoy that. But all that can wait. London for 2 days, then Sc...

My life with the occasional political or sports talk. Thursday, August 17, 2006. Apparently the federal government is actively seeking the opinions of average Canadians on what their role should be in post-secondary education. Now, as someone who believes the feds should be much more active in ensuring anyone who qualifies for post-secondary should be able to go, this is of great interest to me. If you really want consultation wouldn't you actively push for as many people to get involved as possible?

My life with the occasional political or sports talk. Saturday, September 09, 2006. Sorry about the lack of updates lately. I was trying to become a more active blogger, but that's kind of hard when your computer dies. It's amazing how little computers have advanced since I bought one. Sure, they're a little faster, a little better graphics, etc. However, during the computer arms race that was going on for a few years it seems like they jumped light years ahead every few months.
