I had to look to Jesus for rescue. I couldn’t muster it up anymore. All of that was burned away by the experiences my wife and I went through. Paul Tripp speaks of horizontal and vertical lines of false and true hope. He ends by pointing us from our sin to Jesus. One of my favorite movies is “ The Postman.
