Bye bye 2013 | blog for blog's sake
https://blogforblogssake.wordpress.com/2014/01/01/bye-bye-2013
Blog for blog's sake. All the shit that wouldn't fit anywhere else. Passing The Turing Test. January 1, 2014. I survived 2013, and I did some things that were pretty momentous – at least in my own reckoning, and considering this is that point in the year when one does such things, and I am writing this, my reckoning would seem to be paramount, no? Anyway, so what does that even mean? Yeah, I hit the 50,000 word mark. The novel isn’t done yet, but it represents, in the completion of that act, so...Just th...

Blog for blog's sake. All the shit that wouldn't fit anywhere else. September 12, 2014. I sometimes wish for a person I could speak to who actually listened, that was of my own choosing, and before anyone says therapist … I don’t believe in that bullshit. I just mean someone who was interested enough to listen without any ulterior motive. Why would this be useful? Being private doesn’t mean being anti-social; doesn’t mean I want to exclude people. What it means is that the people I invite...I do have a f...

Blog for blog's sake. All the shit that wouldn't fit anywhere else. March 10, 2015. Modern life seems replete with chances for a person to be out-etiquette, and perhaps it isn’t such a big thing anymore, but it should be. Why? Because it compensates for some people’s lax attitude to how they treat others. Why is being late acceptable? Why is shouting into your blue tooth headset okay? Why does this happen? What You Look For; What You See. March 8, 2015. It’s funny, you talk about what other people ...

Blog for blog's sake. All the shit that wouldn't fit anywhere else. Newer posts →. December 17, 2013. I have tried myself to remain and put out positive rather than negatively slanted articles, and have succeeded on the whole, only back-sliding on that intent occasionally, and the funny thing? The great thing about that? It has garnered me more responses than any of the negative things I ever wrote. December 9, 2013. A desire to be the only voice in the room being listened to? From where does that derive?

Blog for blog's sake. All the shit that wouldn't fit anywhere else. What You Look For; What You See. March 8, 2015. It’s funny, you talk about what other people think about you and you are really announcing what you think about yourself. The expression that you see on other people’s faces and the communication you sense being transmitted from their eyes is just paredoilia … you are digging patterns out of the clouds. Some of it is, if you are a good person, and you are as capable as they say then you hav...

Blog for blog's sake. All the shit that wouldn't fit anywhere else. What You Look For; What You See →. September 13, 2014. I have been watching some cool films of late – I love Paul Giamatti, so I finally replaced my copies of. And it is odd, but the thing that has struck me, and stuck with me from those films are the moments with children in them. The connection that is there, and how transformative and significant that can be. This entry was posted in update. What You Look For; What You See →. Enter yo...

Blog for blog's sake. All the shit that wouldn't fit anywhere else. To Talk To →. September 6, 2014. Conventionally I used this blog for thought run-off … Stuff that didn’t warrant being anywhere else. It wasn’t that thoughtdrop was meant for deep stuff and this was designed for me to get my shallow on, because that never really happened here, but this was kind of an emotional dirty laundry, or at least something more personal. Blog for blog's sake. All the shit that wouldn't fit anywhere else. Bye bye 2013 →. Passing The Turing Test. December 30, 2013. Complicity comes in many forms, and it can be as simple as a tasteless joke, or an off-colour remark; it doesn’t have to be a physical attack or political act against someone’s human rights. These things all fit into a scale and make up a spectrum, and to enter in at any point on this spectrum is to have contributed to intolerance. Why am I saying this? I know people who are plu...

Check out the insanity everywhere! Accomplished Speaker, Mentor and friend, Joseph Miller cursed me with these words early on in my training:. Where you walk, the earth shakes.". While it seemed to reference my bountiful physique, Joseph was referring to my impact. He was not going to let me tiptoe around this world. He was one of many visionaries to curse me thusly. My fifth grade teacher, Mrs. Lambert, always said to my parents:. One day that boy of yours is going to wake up and when he does, watch out!

Tuesday, January 4, 2011. We are on the countdown for day therapy! Three weeks left at Shephard Pathways counting this week! Shawn's last day will be January 21 and then he will probably continue therapy closer to home, probably a couple days of week rather than everyday! Shawn walked yesterday from our driveway all the to the next street down from our house and back! He was using his cane, but he was walking pretty fast! He also drove the golf cart around the neighborhood! Keep up the good work Shawn!
