Blogs and various musings of the curious mind. Thursday, July 4, 2013. This is my newest addition to my family of female sculptures that I have been working on this summer. I am working on mixing the faces with abstract shapes that start in the hair. The facial proportions on this sculpture worked out well and the red tones in the hair really give contrast to the face. The height is a little shorter than the others but the proportions seemed to work out pretty good. Posted by Shawn Thomas.

I am about halfway in on this new abstract wood form that I have been working on lately. I will post a fuller view once I get to a certain point in the development process. I was sad to see a number of old trees cut down from my front yard for the road expansion but it has provided me with substantially large sections of wood to carve! Posted by Shawn Thomas.
