When Boras says Ollie 'turned a corner' in 2006, was that corner the shutout he had in the second game of a doubleheader against the hapless Braves? Or the tons of run support he got in Game 4 of the NLCS? Or Endy's catch in Game 7? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Rob Neyer on Ollie Perez: http:/ sports.espn.go.c.

Baseball and Booze: 06/01/2009 - 07/01/2009

Baseball discussion: Mets, Yankees, anything else. Monday, June 29, 2009. Both blog writers and real-life people seem to feel that the Mets have been a huge disappointment this season, but I'm not sure if there's anything to be disappointed by other than all the injuries. Here's a simple exercise - look at the pre-season projections for everyone who's played for the Mets, multiply by how much they've actually played, and see how many runs we should've reasonably expected this team to score and give up.

Baseball discussion: Mets, Yankees, anything else. Thursday, December 11, 2008. Wow, the Mets have a bullpen. I'm a believer that a team with playoff ambitions should have a strong 1-2 punch in the bullpen. Now, the Mets have one of the best combos in baseball. It's arguable that there are better ways to spend $37 million than on a closer, but I generally won't argue too much against acquiring the best available players at a given position; K-Rod and Putz were the two best available relievers.

Me and Pedro Down By the Ballpark. Blogging Sports From Queens. Tuesday, September 23, 2008. I (Bryan) have temporarily moved blog operations over here,. But if this was the end, this blog was fun for the good times. UPDATE: On second thought, about 5 minutes later, I might keep this as my sports outlet, keep the new one as a literary jackoff blog, and run them all through my eponymous site. I like it. Once everything was out my system, it felt better. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Sh* * * * *.

Tonight we open the beers, one by one, and roll them into our mouths, letting the heat try to pry them back out. Tonight we don’t talk about the man we are drinking, but we are thinking about him the whole time. We drink the beer of the Dominican Republic; we don’t have to say his name.
