Puzzling Out the Intricacies of Stockdog Training. Wednesday, June 29, 2011. Back to Basics Once Again. Worked at Roy's last night. It was hot so we tried to keep things quiet. So we worked taking the sheep to the far corner behind the bush. It was really fiddling work as she had to apply pressure to one sheep, then lean over and apply pressure to the next to get them to move together. Monday, September 26, 2011. And that's pretty cool. About a month ago I went out with a coworker to pick up a wolf call box she had set up in the woods, and I got a few photos. Just a little baby bird. Cool. We ran across a mountain lion track. Pretty cool. Not far away we ran across the lions kill cache which they bury and return to later. Pretty cool. Sunday, June 10, 2012. I have several trail cams out on the WMA and another biologist has some up the moutains a bit near the WMA. On the WMA, we've had black bear and grizzly bears, mountain lion, bobcat, coyotes, moose, elk, white-tailed and mule deer, a skunk, turkeys, hunters, dogs, etc, etc. Pretty cool to see all these animals traveling the same trail! This is mostly for me to keep track of things.kind of like a diary and maybe for my kids to keep track of me! Friday, June 3, 2011. We are at that time in spring when we have an overload of work and not enough time to fill it. I don't know what we would do if it was dry however. It is so wet here that I think we should start building an ark or at least buy a boat! I also managed to find time to make a batch of dandelion wine. This is very time consuming to pick all of the blossoms but well worth it.
