Carnaby skirt - And She Knits Too!
http://acunningplan.typepad.com/andsheknitstoo/2015/03/carnaby-skirt.html
And She Knits Too! Knitting = Me Time. March 22, 2015. I finished my skirt! I rather like it! And because the cold weather is never going to stop, I've even happy opportunities to wear it. It's a good fit, but does stretch a bit. I'm planning to reinforce the waist with grosgrain ribbon, or pick up stitches and do a waistband and add an elastic. And I know I was pessimistic about ever getting this done. And to that I say:. Posted at 08:44 PM in Fun. Id like to attempt, although I knit at a snails pace.

Knitting = Me Time - And She Knits Too!

And She Knits Too! Knitting = Me Time. March 01, 2015. Lots of work and lots of parenting really cuts into knitting. I missed having a hour in front of the TV to relax with my knitting and make something that doesnt involve a computer. I also realized that not taking that time for myself is not a good thing. I get grumpy when I dont have time for myself to do something that I enjoy. Turns out the Purple Purl. The Purple Purl was hosting a knit-along of the Seasons Hat. 0160;My photography is not so great...

Fiber Fun And Me: Idle Hands are the Devil's Workshop......................
http://fiberfunandme.blogspot.com/2015/05/idle-hands-are-devils-workshop.html
Fiber Fun And Me. Sharing my love of knitting, crochet, spinning and other things. Friday, May 8, 2015. Idle Hands are the Devil's Workshop. First, again using the pattern from Attic 24 blog. This is a close up, and I think the colored yarn worked up really well with this pattern. At first, Sascha was wary of it, and wanted nothing to do with it. But after a while, after a few hours of inspection, making sure it was "safe," it was tested, and found to be rather nice. Sascha - this morning. Congratulation...

HAPPY ACRES: January 2014
http://happyacres.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html
Sunday, January 19, 2014. There are two seasonal diversions that can ease the bite of any. Winter. One is the January thaw. The other is the seed catalogues.". I have not succumbed to the lore of the seed catalogue but the January thaw has come. Living in a river valley means you're aware of seasonal ebbs and flows . I have been spinning. After cleaning my woolee winder. The large gear kept coming on done. I eventually lost the screw and had to write to them for a replacement. As it is better known.

HAPPY ACRES: December 2013
http://happyacres.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html
Monday, December 09, 2013. To everything there is a season,. To everything there is a season,. And a time to every purpose under the heaven:. A time to be born, and a time to die;. A time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;. A time to kill, and a time to heal;. A time to break down, and a time to build up;. A time to weep, and a time to laugh;. A time to mourn, and a time to dance;. A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together;. A time to get, and a time to lose;.

HAPPY ACRES: June 2013
http://happyacres.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html
Tuesday, June 18, 2013. Slow down and enjoy life. It's not only the scenery you miss by going too fast-you also miss the sense of where you are going and why." - Eddie Cantor. The past couple of days I have finally been able to sit and boy am I enjoying it. My car broke down and is in the shop which is why I am stuck home. But Jimmy crack corn and I don’t care because the sun is shining the temperature is perfect with a slight breeze to keep insects at bay. The smell of the wild rose and peonies. The new...

HAPPY ACRES: September 2013
http://happyacres.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
Friday, September 13, 2013. The foliage has been losing its freshness through the month of August, and here and there a yellow leaf. Shows itself like the first gray hair amidst the locks of a beauty who has seen one season too many.". Once school starts I automatically go into “fall” mode. I start harvesting everything there is to harvest. I look forward to the cooler temperatures and foggy mornings. The multitude of spider webs covered in dew. I gave up all thoughts of canning under such inhospitable.

HAPPY ACRES: February 2014
http://happyacres.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html
Wednesday, February 19, 2014. 8220;Winter either bites with its teeth or lashes with its tail” Unknown. This year Old Man Winter has a full set of teeth. And he is not afraid to use them. Like a vampire he sunk his teeth in and is sucking the life out of people. He has been taking bite after bite of our area. His cold fingers slipped down toward us in December and he just tightened his grip this month. Most people are wondering if he will ever let go. I see it all around and hear it on the news. This wee...

HAPPY ACRES: Finally April
http://happyacres.blogspot.com/2014/04/finally-april.html
Friday, April 04, 2014. Those who contemplate the beauty of the earth find reserves of strength that will endure as long as life lasts. There is something infinitely healing in the repeated refrains of nature— the assurance that dawn comes after night, and spring after winter.". Our early battle between Winter and Spring is ongoing. Last week I went to help stock trout and it was 24 degrees with a wind chill factor of 10. They were cutting through 18 inches of ice to continue stocking. Fiber Fun And Me.
