Saturday, April 22, 2006. Spring soccer is well underway. I know. That soccer is a fall sport, but some of us just enjoy beating our heads against a wall enough to play two seasons a year. Even worse, we coach. Now it seems I have to worry about the dogs. Until Clifford's mom shrieked and pulled him away. Um, he had lifted his leg on me. So now, I had dog hair, dog drool and dog pee all over me. Nice to her. I understood. I really did. If a dog is going to pee on anyone. Posted by herewegoagain at 5:52 PM.

Friday, September 29, 2006. I was working with the kids and their spelling this week. It was an odd list, to say the least. Words like "deceased" and "deathbed"? Anyway, we were going over the meaning of all their words (these were all words with a long "e" sound). Valise. Was difficult.then rowdy son started to sing, "Oh, I know,- it's like in the song". What song? I thought I had straightened out the actual song name, when we came upon deceased. On the list. "Oh! He chimed." Deceased Navidad. If we los...

(except when you were drumming at your wedding, then you were some hunky rocker i never knew). i think patty is so perfect for you, but mostly i think SHE got the best guy in the world for her forever love. Posted by herewegoagain at 12:46 PM. Tuesday, February 21, 2006. D Day minus 3. I cleaned my car. What on earth are you doing? Because I (and she! Will do anything to ...

Monday, May 29, 2006. This Memorial Day is especially poignant to me as it is my first one without my dad. He always told us stories of growing up in Central Florida in the 20's and 30's and the big deal Memorial Day was. There were actually Civil War vets marching in the Lakeland Memorial Day parade! Today we went to see Hailey. Hailey is part of a new generation that is shaping this country. I'm so proud when I see what it is doing to support our men and women in uniform. Here. Tuesday, March 28, 2006. OK, I admit it. I was worried that my little Dolly was, um, in the family way. As in "puppies", since she is my 7 pound chihuahua. I will say that I've NEVER been happier to NOT be a dog breeder than I was this afternoon as my vet literally laughed in my face when I worriedly had her check Dolly out. Have you ever seen. People in my neck of the woods throw breeding words out like it's something you can actually talk. Ever picked a farm fresh egg up from a nest? Yesterday was a ni...

Taming the Lions: First Week
http://amydavis06.blogspot.com/2007/08/first-week.html
Friday, August 31, 2007. I survived my first week of classes! Impressions after a few classes: Everyone else in my class is the cream of the crop. They are the top 10% of their.respective realms. I am the stupid one. BUT, I'm really enjoying my classes so far. Sure it was only the first week (easy to say that now, right? But honestly, the material fascinates me. And that is step #1, isn't it? But I was pretty sure it would be a third or fourth tier school. Lessons learned so far:. Don't be late to the bu...

Taming the Lions: Happy Veterans Day
http://amydavis06.blogspot.com/2008/11/happy-veterans-day.html
Tuesday, November 11, 2008. Today the trend is to be increasingly selfish. the goal is to minimize inconvenience to yourself. the morality is 'if it feels good, do it.'. Which is one of the reasons that now, more than ever, an individual willing to sacrifice for his or her country is that much rarer, that much braver, that much more to be thanked. To everyone who served, everyone who gave of themselves for their country - thank you. November 11, 2008 at 8:46 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Friday, October 20, 2006. I've been reading a lot of Ruth Reichl. Probably not a good thing to do when you are trying to diet (as I always am! Because she is the former restaurant critic for the NY Times (as well as editor of Gourmet magazine). Her biographies (the two I have read)- "Comfort Me with Apples" and "Garlic and Sapphires" are great reads.funny, informative glimpses into a world I will never inhabit. Oh, and recipes are included! But now I feel better realizing that in fact, I am a foodie.
