May 6th, 2008. 09:42 am - Wizardy! Here's a good one - a substitute teacher fired for performing a magic trick. Apparently they've accused him of. As Bugs Bunny observed- "What a bunch of maroons! I pictured someone who looked a bit more like the wizard on those rather moronic cell phone commercials. Just think: the folks who let him go are the people teaching our youth. Measles - Princess WinterMom. May 3rd, 2008. 10:18 am - Measles. I've been very disappointed to see that Obama, McCain, and Clinton all jumped on the "I am suspicious of vaccinations" bandwagon. All over the US, people are drifting away from vaccinating their kids. But the evidence is that vaccinations are safe - and we really do not want the old diseases back, the ones that used to prey so heavily on children - like Measles. I like that in our collective imaginations, Mars has become. well, just a place. Like the top of some terribly high and distant Everest. And today, it's a little bit closer.
