SHEFFIELD - Town of Murals. The first mural in Sheffield was unveiled in December 1986. Since then over sixty murals depicting the area's rich history and beautiful natural scenery have been painted on walls scattered throughout the town and buildings along the roadside. The murals attract an estimated 220,000 people to the town annually. Painted by John Lendis in 1986. Tasmania for your sea change. We have many activities both in town and within a short drive. CALENDAR of ACTIVITIES and EVENTS. September 3 - 4. Redwater Creek Steam and Heritage Society. Currently has over 1km of track. While there you can also see some of our other steam machinery working, and enjoy some real coffee and hot chocolate in the updated station cafe! Trains run 11am until 4pm on Saturday and Sunday. Website: www.redwater.org.au. September - Mondays and Wednesdays. Senior Citizen Centre - Pioneer Crescent, Sheffield.

Majella’s plan had us visiting Stanley, Burnie, Devonport, Sheffield, Deloraine, and possibly other locations before reaching Launceston where we will stay for 3 nights.
