Tales from Africa: April 2011
http://laurenineastafrica.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
Saturday, April 30, 2011. My cousin Savannah got married last Saturday. I hated that I missed it, but that is part of the "missionary sacrifice" - missing out on events back home. For Skype. My sweet cousin Kameron worked it out for her friend, Travis, to have his IPhone to skype me into the wedding. Apparently, my parents and Travis tried for 20 minutes before the wedding to try to get the skype connection to work, but it wouldn't work at all. Then, suddenly, I got the call! Thursday, April 14, 2011.

Tales from Africa: New Normal
http://laurenineastafrica.blogspot.com/2011/10/new-normal.html
Friday, October 7, 2011. I have some other friends who have written about the odd things that we adopt when we move to a new culture; things that shocked us or seemed so weird when we first came, and now we don't think twice about them; or, they've written on "You know you live in when.". I thoroughly enjoyed reading their. About it, so I thought I would do the same. You aren't surprised to see men peeing in public. In fact, I see this at least once a week. You only use skeleton keys for your entire house.

Thursday, October 20, 2011. I am currently sitting in my friend's house in Marseille, France. Its gorgeous and just a couple of blocks away from the Mediterranean. Ah-mazing to say the least. But I wanted to share with you my last hour in Malawi because, well, it seems Africa had to get the last word. You can ask Anna Marie. But I did a pretty good job of packing. She had to help me make some tough decisions on what to bring home, but overall, I did okay. I was really proud of myself. One bag only.".
