August 31, 2014. We arrived in Beijing early this afternoon and were met at the airport by our driver Mr. Wong and our personal tour guide, Bat (which he told us is short for Batman). I think that Bat and I will get on very well. This evening, we walked around to get our bearings and have a meal and also got caught in a heavy downpour. We are expecting to see more of Shanghai, which is an enormous city, when we spend the day with our tour guide tomorrow. So far, Shanghai is entirely diferent to Beijing.
