Please remember that your iPads don't like the cold any more than you do, and if they are cold for too long, it will hurt them - badly! Make sure you are keeping your iPad in the neoprene carrying cases when you have to carry them outside. And whatever you do, DON'T leave them in a vehicle that is not running - EVER! Tok middle school students are learning a new language that not everyone is familiar with - it's called Logo, and it's a programming language that is used to write all sorts of computer programs. They are learning this language by using a program called Scratch. Scratch is a programming language that makes it easy for students to create their own interactive stories, animations, games, music, and art - and share their creations on the web.

That will contain lots of short tutorial videos that you can access any time you may need help. There are lots of changes in the building and our courses this year that I think everyone will really like. Most of my students from last year are familiar with Edmodo and already have accounts and passwords. Well most of you who know me know that I really like to use technology in my courses, so I'm excited to be the official technology teacher this year!

The Weisz Teacher's Blog. Monday, April 30, 2012. For the rest of the school year, I will be introducing some, maybe all of my classes to Edmodo. Edmodo is an online learning platform. It's just another way for students to get assignments, instead of the usual way, which is to go to one of our class wikis. I'm not getting rid of the class wikis just yet - they may still serve a purpose. For students in my classes using Edmodo, please click here for the link to the Edmodo site.
