Long Distance: Essay
http://egaizetis.blogspot.com/2010/03/essay.html
Sunday, March 28, 2010. For whatever reason, I cannot find the finalized draft but what I'm posting here is the closest to what I handed in to class. As soon as I have my other draft returned to me, I will post it as an edit on this post.). Brainstorm: the Ownership of Ideas. Do we own our thoughts? Are thoughts and ideas property? It is not necessary for any one person to be motivated. Of course, motivation or will power of some kind is necessary for the survival of the species – but any rando...I am an...

Long Distance: Time is Running Out (with thanks to Muse)
http://egaizetis.blogspot.com/2010/03/time-is-running-out-with-thanks-to-muse.html
Tuesday, March 30, 2010. Time is Running Out (with thanks to Muse). Here was something I found interesting while reading Mauss: ". It also makes me wonder whether our digital revolution will be the catalyst for something that's legitimately dangerous, like digitized.well, I guess it would be pointless to make an example here, since I can't think of anything that hasn't been converted into digital form by now. Monday, February 22, 2010. But that's just being facetious.) Also Locke's perspective on children was that they were property because they are dependent on their parents for physical and mental support and therefore not mature enough to have property of their own. Thus, to tie in with our assumptions about rational purpose, I ask: would it be right to impose regulations on would-be parents so that they are restricted from having too many kids? Long Distance: May 2010

Monday, May 3, 2010. This is my revised mid-term essay. Personally, it's still a work-in-progress but I find the concept riveting. What do you think? Common ideas do not take the form of a tangible object because they cannot be easily quantified, yet they still exist. So, what are they? WIPO does not classify common ideas as property but what if WIPOs concept of property is limited to the concrete? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Massachusetts, United States. View my complete profile.

Long Distance: Time
http://egaizetis.blogspot.com/2010/04/time.html
Friday, April 30, 2010. A strange thought occurred to me earlier: is time property? Man made time and anything that man makes belongs to people. But since the idea of time existed prior to man existing, can man claim that 'time' is his property? I suppose the "idea" of time belongs to man because he created it. Air and water belong to man, too, but in that same regard, man did not "create" air or water. He just uses it. May 1, 2010 at 10:42 PM. May 2, 2010 at 4:39 PM. May 2, 2010 at 6:12 PM. And were say...

Long Distance
http://egaizetis.blogspot.com/2010/04/lately-ive-wondered-about-pureness-of.html
Sunday, April 11, 2010. Lately, I've wondered about the "pureness" of gift-giving. It makes me think back to when I struggled to see how altruism was real. Is there such a thing as pure altruism? Is there such a thing as a gift given out of pure benevolence? With gifts, is it the same? April 12, 2010 at 7:46 AM. I suspect a certain species of reductive Hobbesian thinking has wormed its way into our brains, forcing us to rehash this false dilemma eternally. April 29, 2010 at 7:02 PM. I am an undergrad stu...
