If I Knew What I Was Doing I Wouldn't be Here: Brooklyn
http://ifiknewwhat.blogspot.com/2007/11/brooklyn.html
Saturday, November 10, 2007. A photo from late September, when we attended a Buddhist Peace festival in Prospect Park. I had never been to the actual park before, although I had been through the area many, many years ago. I had forgotten how wonderful the neighborhood around the park is. Many, many beautiful old brownstones lovingly restored like the one above. Right now Blogger is having a meltdown, so I will have to upload the rest later. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Across the street is a house where three girls are about to come home from school at the time this was taken.). I am neither a genius nor is "there a thin line between genius and insanity". Time to sell my house, move and sue this town. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). If I Knew What I Was Doing I Wouldn't be Here. My dad used to say that I wa...

If I Knew What I Was Doing I Wouldn't be Here: Rant du Jour - Modern Medicine
http://ifiknewwhat.blogspot.com/2006/12/rant-du-jour-modern-medicine.html
Monday, December 11, 2006. Rant du Jour - Modern Medicine. And this is the best that money gets us at the end of our lives, thanks to modern medicine and medications that keep us alive longer, well past the point where the rest of us is worn out and no longer working. OK - here's my rant:. What percentage of those tested get cancer from that exposure? What percentage of high blood pressure leads to health problems and what percentage of medication leads to health problems? All of them. So what to do?

If I Knew What I Was Doing I Wouldn't be Here: Molly
http://ifiknewwhat.blogspot.com/2006/11/molly.html
Saturday, November 25, 2006. My dog Molly died yesterday after a struggle with lymphoma for most of the past two months. I thought that was it. Problem solved. A few days later, I came home to find Molly tied to the front railing. So I learned to close windows when I went outside for a minute. So every window on the house got a safety wedge to prevent it from opening more than a few inches. She died a half hour later, at home, having said her goodbyes to all of us in her favorite spot. How sad. ;(. Syste...

If I Knew What I Was Doing I Wouldn't be Here: The Bitch Cat from Hell
http://ifiknewwhat.blogspot.com/2008/01/bitch-cat-from-hell.html
Friday, January 11, 2008. The Bitch Cat from Hell. When the people at the animal rescue start to question whether or not you really want a particular kitten, you should listen to them, and not to the kids or the big kid who have become smitten with her cute looks, while you have become bitten by the sharp little teeth behind the disguise. She looks SOOOOOO cute, doesn't she? More on the Cat from Hell, later. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). If I Knew What I Was Doing I Wouldn't be Here. Unemployed boo...

The Reel Deal: 2006/12
http://thereel.blogspot.com/2006_12_01_archive.html
Sharing stuff found on magnetic tape in the reel-to-reel format. Bel Canto Nutcracker Suite. OK, so Mitch Miller isn't holiday enough. No worries. This should make up for it, though. Oh well, enough blather, I give you the usual full-size scans:. The front of the box. The back of the box. Note that this was part of a promotinal deal (as seen on the back of the box). does this make it a "rare Bel Canto"? Only time will tell. Meanwhile, rack this one up and enjoy The Nutcracker Suite. The Reel Deal: 2006/08
http://thereel.blogspot.com/2006_08_01_archive.html
Sharing stuff found on magnetic tape in the reel-to-reel format. London Phase 4 Sampler. Here we go, the first of a new batch of tapes for the Reel Deal! We have a treat, something sure to please! Instead of going on about what "Phase 4" is, I have included a scan of the insert that is the promotional rah-rah included on all Phase 4 tapes (and is somewhat repeated on most of the London Phase 4 LP jackets). It's definately less messier than Whitman's, and lasts a whole lot longer, too! Links to this post.

Vintage Lounge: August 2005
http://vintagelounge.blogspot.com/2005_08_01_archive.html
Examples of lounge, easy-listening, and exotica music that predate the hi-fi era of the mid-1950s and, in some cases, the era of LPs. Prepare to (hopefully) be surprised! Sunday, August 28, 2005. Big, lush, Sixties-style easy listening- from 1946. So, we just have to be talking about Morton Gould, right? Right Gould, we recall, is the American composer and mood-music Maestro who first recorded his spectacular 1961 "Living Stereo" arrangement of. Beyond the Blue Horizon. Beyond the Blue Horizon.
