This first gallery is devoted to the insanity after Christmas Eve Mass but opens with a shot of Mom beside her Nativity scene on Christmas Day. Happy Birthday, Baby Jesus! Juni sets the tone for the festivities. Photo-bombing, high jinks, and laughter are the order of the day. But first, Mom and Chris share a quiet moment in the kitchen. First, after a 10-hour bus ride, we arrived in the mountain community of Saraguro. We stayed at the Achik Wasi Lodge, which overlooked the whole town, seen in the preceding photo. At the "hostal," we hooked up with the first of the IALS students, Maria, who works the front desk. She wears traditional dress both on and off the job, as do many in her community. Suzi, reincarnated in Saraguro! A very popular car in Ecuador, the Suzuki body is sold under the Chevrolet name. Shelley gets the royal treatment!

Straight from the airport, Bob made a stop at the North Windmill at the west end of Golden Gate Park. Bob's new bird Wills says welcome to SF. We stayed at the Hotel 1000 in downtown Seattle. Shelley said I should have swiped the duck. We had a great lunch at Thoa's (Vietnamese and Thai) Restaurant. In Montreal we spent two nights at L Hotel, a funky boutique hotel in Old Montreal with lots of original artwork. It was very cold when we arrived.
