Wednesday, 9 January 2013. Welcome to my shiny new Authors page. With a new Year comes a new start, a pretty new name and renewed determination. A little about me? I am (on again, off again) working on a Fantasy Novel, I'm editing the first part called The Rising. I expect to have it ready for publishing sometime in 2014 (realistically). Wednesday, 29 January 2014. A Short story written from a prompt shared in a writers group. The prompt - Include the phrase- "find the ration card.". Mish ran, bare feet slapping the cold, hard ground. She ducked and weaved through the crowd; their elegant robes swished over her closely cropped hair. Every now and then she reached out, slipping small hands inside a coat or robe pocket. Sometimes something, most of the time zip, like today. She quickened her pace, empty fingers twitching. The line moved on.

Monday, 22 September 2014. Hack and Slash- Gardening, not Editing. September is almost at it's end.and I have been rather unproductive writing-wise. Made a start on a few things, edited some others, rewrote some, squinted, sighed and looked out the window. Spring has arrived, the sun was up and the jungle that is my garden waved back at me with its wild untamed tenticular.everything. So I started a gardening blitz because . And every writer needs a break once in a while. Yes, I was very proud of myself.

Thursday, 6 November 2014. Short story- A shipload of trouble. 8220;Gabriel, you came.” Tesla’s heavily accented voice found me before I viewed him by sight. When I looked up at the ship’s deck the jittery excitement in his restless hands as drew out his pocket watch, and the manner in which he barely glanced at it before quickly slipping it away, worried me further. He jerkily waved me up to meet him upon the deck of the schooner. 8221; I inquired cautiously. When my stung vision cleared, I soon realize...

Friday, 24 October 2014. Gearing up for Nano 2014. Here we go . NaNoWriMo is almost here, otherwise known as National Novel Writing Month. Only a week to go! If you are not familiar, Nano is that yearly event where you are tasked with writing 50,000 words in 30 days. I've done it two years running and won both times - but not without making a splendid mess, naturally. Whispers) "it's OK first drafts are almost always terrible". Check it out, maybe even try it! 8220;So, get dressed, there’s somethin...

Ami L. Hart- Writer: Transition

Wednesday, 5 November 2014. On Sunday 26th October we went into the central city to mark the Festival of Transitional Architecture. (FESTA). It's hard to describe what I saw/ felt and thought, but I'll try. Something struck me as I walked around the inner city that day. The silence. It was heavy and lonely. And yes, those yawning empty spaces where buildings used to be practically screamed that silence. We made our way toward a new fluttering heartbeat. That led us to the Transitional Cathedral, with...

It's been an unforgivably long time hasn't it? I kinda stopped writing regularly over the Christmas (summer) holidays. Keeping the kids occupied took maximum-energy. Yeah, I was left feeling pretty ragged by the start of the new school year. I did do some work on the novel Once Were Angels, although most of the progress was during April's Camp NaNoWriMo. More about that later- in an actual, legit blog post- when I can snatch the time. That's it for now. It was all NaNo's fault! The "thing" isn't finished...
