Wednesday, December 25, 2013. Flat-backed Wise Men and Hope. This year is even more unusual -we are holding off our usual Christmas morning for two extra days until our oldest son, Trevor, gets home. It has really changed my focus this year. Of course, intermingled with the blessings of life are the hardships and challenges, a list that feels much longer sometimes than the thank you one. And here is where my focus shifted this year. Hope that eternity will be beyond my wildest imaginations and dreams.

Saturday, March 29, 2014. After the worst Ohio winter since the Blizzard of '78 I am so thankful to be enjoying spring break at Yosemite. It's beautiful here! On a walk this morning my son told me that these trees are black oaks. In a crowd of trees they bend and twist between their taller, straight competitors, to find the light they need to grow. I have been working since I was 15 and there has not been more than 1-2 months that I have then been unemployed during that time. I have been a bag boy, sales associate, landscaper, non-profit employee, and a leasing agent.
