Monday, December 08, 2008. Her first day at Kindergarten. Shelly started her first day with her new Kindergarten class this morning. I dropped her off at school because we only have 1 car right now while my truck gets a new engine put in it. Long story. I felt like a proud father taking their child to their first day of school. Monday, October 06, 2008. A Day of Service. Something special happens when you put children with our older generation. Last Saturday, the children of Mission Lazarus Refuge participated in Service Day and traveled to San Vicente de Paul Nursing Home in Choluteca. They spent time singing to the residents, playing board games and enjoying cake and juice with the 20 saints from the home. What a special time to see the two generations interact with one another and enjoy the day together. A Day of Service.

Monday, May 18, 2009. Does Shelly look another year older? Well, she turned 30 on Saturday and my Mom, Lynn and I planned a surprise birthday party for her that night. We had about 90 people show up at Woodson for the party which was a GREAT turnout. For all those who came, thank you very much. Because of the poverty in Agua Fria, the kids up there weren't going to be able to celebrate this day set aside especially for them, so we decided to help them celebrate! With little gift bags, lots of candy and a pinata we set off from the office for the jungle. Now, if only I had a video of that. maybe next time.

Tuesday, December 9, 2014. We have been living here in Abilene for 6 months now, we have found a Church home, some of our favorite places to eat, we have a set date once a week to go to laundry mat to wash clothes, and we are learning to cook for two again. There are days we miss working at the Children's Home we miss Ms Sharon who is the glue that holds everything together, we miss the view, we miss the kids (at times) we miss knowing what was needed of us. There is so much Joy when you serve God above.
