The children paid much more attention to a short presentation about the origins of cacao and bean to bar production than I would have ever imagined. Little Jessica (in her bright pink t-shirt) repeated the entire process to her mum when she arrived home. Very impressive! As were her totally original truffles ; ). Wrapping and ribboning chaos at the craft table ensued. Shelly and Jessica xx.

Shelly and Ice cream. Wednesday, 9 February 2011. You'll be happy to know that it's so often to do with tools and nothing to do with you at all. My own baking revelation came after I invested a couple of quid in an oven thermometer; a gadget you might like the idea of but can't really see the point because your oven temperature gauge does that for you, right? Shelly and Ice cream. Friday, 12 February 2010. 600g Fresh Fennel (chopped). 1 litre of Chicken or Vegetable Stock. A big bunch of fresh Mint (chopped). Place fennel, peas and stock in a large saucepan. Bring to the boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer for 20 minutes or until the fennel is tender. Add the chopped mint and scoop out a cupful of the mixture and set aside for later. Transfer the mixture to a blender and puree the whole thing down. Salt and Pepper to taste. Et voila! Sparkling Lemon and Limeade. 1 cup of Agave syrup. 1 litre of sparkling water. A handful of fresh basil and fresh mint. Slices of lemon and lime. Shelly and Ice cream. Sunday, 6 February 2011. I'm convinced that if you serve this up for your loved one on Valentines Day, his or her heart will melt.just a little bit. Amore! 240g salted butter (room temp). 110g sugar (more for dusting if required). 500g strawberries (washed, de-hulled and cut in to 1cm sq). Fresh basil (a few finely shredded leaves). Double or clotted cream for serving. Turn the oven on to 140 degrees and line a shallow baking tray with baking parchment. 7 February 2011 at 02:12.

I promise it’s delicious and actually it’s the perfect recipe to start this blog because it embodies my entire ‘creeping towards forty’ cooking philosophy of - eat plenty, don’t deny comfort food. Ingredients: Meat/Ragu Filling and Layering. Minced Turkey x 2 packs or mince your own turkey breasts. Smoked Pancetta x 6 slices, chopped. Carrots x 2, cubed. Celery x (½ a whole one) cubed. Onion x 2, cubed. Garlic x 2 cloves, chopped. Dried Herbs of your choice.

Adventures of the Inseparable Blondies. August 27, 2012. Hard to believe its been a full year since I married my best friend. For our anniversary we took off for a scenic drive up the California coast to Big Sur and Carmel-by-the-Sea. After hitting some traffic in LA, it cleared up once we hit Santa Barbara and we cruised on past miles and miles of sandy beaches and ocean front views.
