If we aren’t doing — it seems unspiritual. Some may say your lack of DOING says something of your spiritual condition. I’m done with doing. I’m done with simply doing all stuff just to be done. Its ALL been done. We do simply to fill life’s gaps and crevices. We’ve nothing left to do. We have forgotten how to BE. Be people of God.

Good combination, yes? And painting…and more PAINTING! We arrived at a few apartment buildings, most of which are owned by Metro and where their staff live. Our job included painting walls, ceilings, doors, intricate trim work, stairs, banisters. You name it, it got painted. Even a few of our faces! 2 responses to “. You’...

Whether its YouthQuake, Trinity, other church here , or a stupid Hannah Barbara cartoon bear with a green ascot and gluttony for picnic food. We earn the right to be heard when we are right THERE. How can they hear us if we don’t get close enough to hug and love them in the “there” of their lives? What does it look like? 3 responses to “. Enter you...

Its late and i’m typing this in front of an air conditioning unit that is purely blessing my soul and overheating body at the moment. What a first day for YouthQuake here in the Big Apple! 8220;Remember that time when we were in New York and it was BLAZING hot? Yeah Yeah and we all had to sleep like packed sardines? How can painting walls and cleaning streets really transform a soul?

Monthly Archives: July 2010. July 25, 2010 · 2:15 pm. YouthQuake NY Trip — Day 4/5/6. Friday saw alot of hard work as we were finishing our work projects for the week. Breaking only a few minutes for lunch, the students and leaders made a hard press to get the projects done. By the end of the week, this is the work accomplished, not including the ministry time talked about on Day 2:. 4) The last crew put a huge dent in one of Metro’s new projects a few blocks down from the apartments. Fat Christians: On Christian Consumerism. Remembering Surge →. May 10, 2010 · 6:14 pm. This was a very simple, yet impacting quote from one of my ministry professors, Matt Huett. Going into my university career, the only books that I owned were used bookstore novels that I had to buy for my high-school along with a few books that I bought for myself (Miller’s. And Rob Bell’s. Practice of the Presence of God. Or AW Tozer’s. The Knowledge of the Holy. Or Brennan Manning’s. Moments with the Savior. Other bo...

It is necessary to take care of one’s own soul through personal prayer and spiritual formation. But as the old adage goes: “Too much of any good thing can be harmful.” Has this “Christian consumerism” harmed the thought and mission of today’s church body? April 8, 2010 · 11:27 am. Its not around any longer and I’ve always wondered why. Kids lived and breathed for Surge. A conversation for a birthday party invite might have gone something like this:. 8220;Hey do you want to go with me to David’s party? 8220;David…geez, I hate that guy.”. 8220;I heard there’s gonna be Surge…”. 8220;What time does it start?
