http://ubuntumusic.blogspot.com/2008_05_01_archive.html
Friday, 30 May 2008. So, I've neglected this blog a fair bit, haven't I? Well, in making my own site. I've decided it needed a revival. Hardy Heron's now out and various other things have happened, so it's time I started posting again. The thing is, there's not much scope just talking about open source music software, is there? I learnt to play guitar thanks to the abundance of tablature. Without the internet and the ability to share whatever I want with the world, these things wouldn't be possible.

Thursday, 12 April 2007. So, this is the homepage of my mUbuntu project, which is just all about introducing people who do music tech to the joys of open source software through things like talks and workshops and whatnot. This is gonna serve as a catalogue of what I do with the project and also as a place for me to post useful info that I wish to pass on to anyone who's interested. I'll update some more later. http://ubuntumusic.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html
Thursday, 26 June 2008. So, I want to talk a little bit about online distribution of music. This is something I've talked about before and I don't want to just repeat myself. I've talked about my views on downloading and the (possible) future of recorded media. I've also talked about Creative Commons licensing. It's nice to see the changes that are happening in the music industry. Artists like Nine Inch Nails. Are now embracing the possibilities the internet holds. In the US and the BPI. A great little d...

http://ubuntumusic.blogspot.com/2007/10/ted-talks.html
Wednesday, 24 October 2007. Technology, Entertainment, Design. It started out (in 1984) as a conference bringing together people from those three worlds. Since then its scope has become ever broader.". So, you can either get Miro. Or head to the TED talks site, here. I am now reviving it and bringing the focus back to the idea of taking an open source approach to music. I will be covering all aspects of music and the ideas behind it, rather than simply focusing on msuic technology and open source.

Any feedback can either be left here as usual or on the forums. This blog will chronicle the development of the website and provides a place where anyone can provide feedback on what I'm doing. In this way, it adheres to the principles of openness and collaboration that I wish to use in the final site/community. A hell of a lot of reading.

Died in a gaming accident - Just a little blog about gaming culture...: May 2008
http://gamingaccident.blogspot.com/2008_05_01_archive.html
Monday, 19 May 2008. So, I'm meant to be talking about online gaming communities. The problem is, despite the fact that I have a lot of experience of online communities and I've studied them before, I have little to no experience of them in a gaming context. I don't play anything like World of Warcraft. The attraction of these games is obviously the fact that they offer an experience that a single player game can't. The experience of playing with humans. The AI was rather uninventive, so while it could p...
