Dating back to the 1800’s, Sheppard Insurance Group has shared in a rich history of being locally-owned and community-focused. CF Smathers Opens an Insurance Agency in Canton, NC. Edwin Hayes purchases the agency from C.F. Smathers. Edwin Haynes moves the agency into the historic rock building on the corner of Main and Academy Street in Downtown Canton. Roy Brock purchases the agency from Edwin Haynes. Roy Brock changes the business name to Brock Insurance Agency, Inc. Kathy Sheppard joins the agency.
