We are sitting in our hotel room in Brisbane city surrounded by our suitcases and our camping clothes line full of our washing. Neddie our ute is down stairs locked securely in the carpark full to the brim with our camping gear with the overflow safely secured on the roof in the luggage basket. Those massive dump trucks looked like tiny wee Tonka trucks driving along the roads down in to the bottom of the pit where they were digging. We fluked it and managed to time our arrival for one of the blasts. They were blasting at the top of the pit and the work was still going on at the bottom of the pit. We thought that would be against safety regulations! Love Ang, Karn, Kendall and Cullen xx.

We have no internet connection or cell phone coverage tonight so I have had to post this blog at the next stop. We refuelled in Ceduna and headed to our stop for the night at Nundroo. The distance between Ceduna and Nundroo was approximately 150km. Now what can I say about the accommodation? I can say that apart from the tent being cold it was 5 star compared to this place! He didn’t know the road either but we both had camping gear if it came to the worst! At this point we decided that perhaps the dirt track was not one of our better ideas, everything in the back of the ute was covered in a thick layer of red dust! Sherrardspark Wood
Sherrardspark Wood is in the north west of Welwyn Garden City and is an ancient woodland consisting mainly of sessile oak and hornbeam. Note, sherrardsparkwood.com has no affiliation with the Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council or the Wood Wardens. Sherrardspark Wood is popular with dog walkers, joggers, cyclists, and horse riders alike, and is also a valuable site for its wildlife.
