Listening to beautiful music on a cold, rainy morning, while sitting by the window having your coffee is truly one of life’s pleasures. If. Napoleon, Hitler, Genghis Khan, Bin Laden, Al-Gaddafi and Stephenie Meyer. Did this two or three times a week, the world wouldn’t have had to endure their tyranny and. I know, it seems incongruous to even suggest that music can cure the world’s ills, but maybe there’s something, after all, to that prison experiment where they played. All day long. Not. Of course, tom...

One Rainy Day…. | Tapestry
https://hazelvalmores.wordpress.com/2011/01/28/one-rainy-day
One Rainy Day…. Tuesday started crazily enough. We all woke up quite late, hesitant to leave the world of dreams, wanting to snuggle more in the cold rain of January. When Mamang finally succeeded in rousing us all from bed, we remembered the wedding. The wedding! Well, maybe next time. The blank paper will always be there. February 4, 2011. Laquo; Previous Post. Next Post ». Goodluck, my dear! I hope...

Once Upon a Summertime. Original Publication: April 29, 2001 / Crossline Sunstar Weekend. Revised: January 6, 2011. Grasses turning yellow in the sweltering heat, a rainbow of blooming flowers, ice-cold fruit shakes in cool verandas, afternoon swims in the river, evening walk with friends, Saturday night dances, girls’ giggles under the mosquito nets. It’s summer. For weaving baskets and hats. We played tennis when the adults couldn’t stand the heat. He did. I sat beside him, much to my mother’s cons...

The Book List | Tapestry

The Dutch Renaissance humanist, Catholic priest and theologian Desiderius Erasmus Roterodamus wrote to a friend, “When I have a little money, I buy books; and if I have any left, I buy food and clothes.”. For many people, this is a great quote. Funny, even. It can be used to impress a boss or a lady a quaint conversation piece. For the bookworms though, this is a way of life. I know that over the years, I’ve given up a lot so I can buy that book which I. Complete Works of William Shakespeare. 4 The most ...
