Wednesday, September 11, 2013. Just a Wednesday post. I kept JT awake late, because I just wanted to marvel in his miraculousness. He was perplexed. He kept looking at me like "You know it's my bedtime right? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. The 3 Duffy Girls. This is the only photo of just my beautiful daughters together. Thursday, February 20, 2014. This very question kept me awake for some time last night. I composed one facebook status 9 times last night before I gave up. What I wanted to say was this: Remember a time, not very long ago, when we all vowed that terrorists would not change how we live our lives? Remember when we said that to change what we do every day would be to let them win? The most recent, comprehensive national study for the number of missing children estimated in 1999: [1]. Monday, June 30, 2014. In response to your critiques. Alright. I have taken some flack for a recent post, Me, Naked. The criticism has fallen into two categories. “Why would I write something so personal? Now, to my favorite and most ridiculous criticism. “Why would I tell people what size you are? I've spent some time planning this post and making a list of what I wear and where I shop, so let me just share with you what size I actually am. Also a medium. Is it a sweater? Made out of anything? The Karma...

Being Mommy Duffy: April 2015

Tuesday, April 7, 2015. There exists a book called “The Happiest Toddler on the Block” by Dr. Harvey Karp. I have owned this book since 2005 when I was parenting the world’s most challenging toddler. She once spent two hours putting on her own tights and shoes. Have you ever seen a 16 month old put on her own tights? All the while screaming “I do myself! I promise, it would have you running for all the self help toddler parenting books. The look of shock on JT’s face is immediate. View my complete profile.

Wednesday, May 14, 2014. I find myself staring at the calendar wondering how it is possible that I have lived 1455 days, 3 hours and 52 minutes without Isabelle. And yet I am still paralyzed by this date on the calendar. May 20. I still find my eyes welling up with tears and the weight around my heart and the black misery that takes over my life in the spring. In 10 years will I forgive myself for failing? Is there a time limit on that? What is the expiration date on guilt and blame? The 3 Duffy Girls.

Wednesday, March 25, 2015. Let me tell you about my weekend. We spent all of Saturday lounging around the hotel and the girls swam and we ate snacks and spread our stuff all over the hotel room. Monday, October 21, 2013. Holy sleep deprivation batman. In the last 451 nights. I can count 6 where I got a full restful night’s sleep that did not involve being awakened by someone crying, howling, puking, wet or poopy. Today’s wake up was at 3:58 am. The boy was wide awake and jumping in his bed, laughing and ready to start his day. Seriously. People and the sand artist, he is quiet and still for these 11 minutes but as soon as Bonnie Bear. Monday, October 7, 2013. I carefully unplugged it and wiped i...

Thursday, May 21, 2015. Lend me an ear. I looked up from the wooden stake that I was painting to look like an ear of corn, “What do you mean? I grow corn every year.”. 8220;I know that you plant corn seeds every year, and make plans for all the corn you’re going to grow. But you’ve never managed to get any corn. Maybe you should devote that space to something else you can grow. Like beans, maybe? You’re really good at growing beans.” At this point he began backing out of the room. View my complete profile.
