Reflections of a Mommy. A little different than the typical mommy blog! A Letter to the Nap Resister. June 11, 2012. Standing on one’s tippy toes can help them gain access to new places. Dear Nap Resister,. Do you know the course I’m teaching begins a week from today? Do you know I need to use your nap time to review my lectures? Do you know I’m really tired because I’ve been doing these things after you go to bed at 9 o’clock at night? BTW: Do you also know that I love you? June 12, 2012 at 9:12 am.

SOL – March 10th “A Familiar Face” | kareninasblog
https://kareninasblog.wordpress.com/2012/03/10/sol-march-10th-a-familiar-face
Just another WordPress.com site. SOL – March 10th “A Familiar Face”. One of the things about studying at a language department is that you often run into people you haven’t seen in a while: as it turns out it’s not always a pleasant surprise. This was one of those days. I stared at her face now, blatantly. She noticed. She looked at me curiously and smiled tentatively. Well I was certainly not expecting that! She waited expectantly now. Was she crazy? Had she honestly forgotten? What was I going to do!

My daughter has made me proud beyond words. My friends are amazing strengths that lift me up through each day. My coworkers show new insight into the world of education through ways I cannot measure. Nobody could measure. My husband is my rock. They round out one of my pies! 4 responses ». You can do this!

What Was That? | elsie tries writing
https://lcinmo.wordpress.com/2012/03/24/what-was-that
The problem with people is they forget that that most of the time it's the small things that count. (Said by Finch in All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven. These are my small things that count. I drove out of the rain and all the bugs from my windshield were magically wiped away. An explosion of sound interrupts my thoughts. Then I see it. Something has hit my windshield and oh my! This is not a little chip. I know a new windshield is in my future. What should I do? 8221; I ask. Just in case you were ...

Lids With No Containers | I paint I write
https://pamelahodges.wordpress.com/2012/03/17/lids-with-no-containers
I paint I write. It is not death that a man should fear, but he should fear never beginning to live. Marcus Aurelius. I Almost Never Met Him. My Fathers Jacket →. Lids With No Containers. March 17, 2012. I have a stack of lids. I don’t know if I have the containers that fit the lids. Yesterday when I cleaned the basement, I tossed them into my work area. Tonight when I cleaned out my work area I moved the lids to the other side of the basement and placed them on top of boxes I still have to unpack. By Ki...

Today we had to finish an essay that our administration was requiring be done as evidence that writing is taking place in our Language Arts classrooms in 7th grade. This is a slice from one block today. Nine final copies that were great examples of "voice" in a text. Four students who did not complete an essay. :(. Are tak...

Slices and Good Reads | A Bit of R-n-R
https://abitofrnr.wordpress.com/2012/03/25/slices-and-good-reads
A Bit of R-n-R. Reading-n-Reflecting on Teaching and Parenting. Slices and Good Reads. March 25, 2012. Oh boy. So, through this writing on Slices of Life, I have also rediscovered my passion for reading. Reading for a purpose or no purpose at all other than the shear joy of reading. Tonight, I entered the world of Goodreads. I think I mostly stopped reading for pleasure because I was so caught up in having to read to learn. I should say having to. Wanting to. Happy Reading and Writing! 3 responses ».

A Bit of R-n-R. Reading-n-Reflecting on Teaching and Parenting. The D’s are a DIFFERENCE…not a Disorder. March 25, 2012. The behaviors co-exist and it is difficult to determine which one…but we made the decision out of the safety concerns for our son and other children, that we had to do SOMETHING to help him slow his brakes. He is impulsive. He cannot stop. His doctor referred to it once as our son having a Ferrari engine with dune buggy brakes. 8221; It is a difference. I give myself credit too. I ...
