The homepage of the newly redesigned hub for tourist information allows visitors to scroll up and down the dramatic landscape of New Zealand. The time-lapse footage was captured by a motion controlled camera moving down a 15 meter tower. The user can scrub through 200 high-res 1280x720 images in realtime, with no load bar thanks to a clever use of sprite sheets and background loading. The homepage is coded in HTML5 with a Flash backup, so the site works seamlessly on all major browsers.
