Shifting forward

April 10, 2008. I'm a real boy! I'm sure many mothers have this issue; not accepting the fact that your baby is now a toddler. Alex will always be my baby boy and I literally was avoiding the issue of him becoming a real toddler. I was avoiding it so badly that his hair was so long. Everyone was telling me, "Cut his hair! He can hardly see because the hair is covering his eyes! Nah, it's fine! He ran his maple fulled hands through his hair and it was sticking up in many places. Time to get a hair cut.

January 02, 2007. Oh by the way. And we finally see the little land and notice the line isn't so long. So we quickly walk to the end of the line only to find out that it ends there but starts way back there. Bummer. Oh well, it's Alex's first Christmas and we must have his picture taken with Santa. We don't make this set anymore. I pay for the bottles and I weave myself out of the. We don't make that set anymore store. Posted by Raquel at 7:00 AM. Pomona, California, United States. April 09, 2007. Doctor Shah walks in, listens to his chest and asks, "Does someone smoke around him? I answer no, no one does. Then he asks, "Does someone has Asthma? I think he would have an easier time dealing with a flat butt rather than Asthma. Jason tries to console me as much as he can but I still feel so bad. Stupid DNA. Posted by Raquel at 8:45 AM. Shifting forward: One morning, six years ago

http://www.shiftingforward.blogspot.com/2007/09/one-morning-six-years-ago.html

September 11, 2007. One morning, six years ago. I'm a loyal listener of KROQ's Kevin and Bean morning show and I awoke with Ralph Garmond's confused yet anxious voice on the radio. Something about a plane hitting a building in New York City. I rubbed my eyes and raised the volume on the radio. Then he said, "I can't believe it! I never thought I would hear the U.S. is under attack. We're the freaking United States of America! Posted by Raquel at 8:10 PM. Pomona, California, United States. Oh by the way.

Shifting forward: It is on TV

http://www.shiftingforward.blogspot.com/2006/08/it-is-on-tv.html

August 02, 2006. It is on TV. 20 weeks have gone by and I'm feeling pretty good. The tummy is growing, my appetite is back and the once butterfly movements I felt are now turning into good little kicks. I love being pregnant and I love feeling my baby move inside of me. Now for the room, should it be pink or blue? Dad looks at mom and says that's it, no more. And I say, "yep it's all 5 of us.". We go into a dark room with all sorts of machines around us. The room looked like you could build your own ...

The Price of Procrastination: January 2009

http://priceofprocrastination.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html

The Price of Procrastination. Wasting time is just a click away. Wednesday, January 28, 2009. The moment we are born, they say, we begin to die. Our time here is fleeting, only for a brief moment are we on this earth to make an impact, change its face for the betterment of those to follow. We live so that our children can live. But why? Where will it lead, and when will it end? That is why life is hard. Did you have to kill your dinner today? Does that make life hard? I consider myself lucky. Damn lucky,...

The Price of Procrastination. Wasting time is just a click away. Wednesday, March 18, 2009. In furthering my educational goals of sometime in the future obtaining a Master’s Degree in Architecture, a couple of weeks ago, I started my second year and fourth class at Riverside Community College. Yes, I’m taking it slow. Well, because I have a full-time job, I’m a full-time stay-at-home dad and I have a host of other interests that demand some of my time. The makeup of the students and the feel for the cour...

The Price of Procrastination. Wasting time is just a click away. Wednesday, December 31, 2008. Perhaps only in our minds, the unsullied new year has such promise. Midnight tonight, change will stand on the threshold and convert our lives into something magical…all because we merely say it will. This promise of change, a trick on the concept of tradition, the mundane repetition that sometimes blankets our lives with the smothering of dull duplication will never end because. Sooner than we can say February...

The Price of Procrastination. Wasting time is just a click away. Thursday, October 23, 2008. Bart, Bart… er, Bark, Bark. Tonight’s art class project was the most nerve wracking, as just the very act of beginning it set a tone of trepidation swirling through all of my fellow students. “Here I go,” “Wish me luck,” and my personal favorite epitaph of the night, “There’s no going back now,” were words spoken by almost everyone before starting. The hardest part of the whole project was the first few scratches...

The Price of Procrastination. Wasting time is just a click away. Thursday, October 22, 2009. Michael, the Nerd. The thing I hate about this particular class is that it is being taken by construction workers. On the first night, we had to each stand up and tell a little bit about ourselves—which is death to me—who cares who anyone is and why they’re there? Just after being tossed to the wolves and asked to form our groups, you could feel the thick pall of hesitation among everyone in the class. I mean...

The Price of Procrastination. Wasting time is just a click away. Thursday, July 30, 2009. Matthew and Me In a Rut. As well, all day, Matthew has found in me a surrogate Natalie, as someone who he can tell jokes to, laugh with and play games with. He loves me. How do I know? He tells me all the time! He’s such a happy boy, too. He doesn’t ask for much, just that I get off the phone and come play a game of HoneyBee or Fishes or Don’t Break the Ice… the list goes on. So, where does that leave Matthew? Prett...

The Price of Procrastination. Wasting time is just a click away. Sunday, December 27, 2009. It’s Church, For God’s Sake. Imaging that happening today. Genetically, how was Adam and Eve able populate the world? On what pew do I hang my hat? Funny enough, there’s no word for people like me. Atheists believe that God doesn’t exist; agnostics don’t believe in anything they can see or touch; theists believe in a god, but not necessarily the. God Where do I fall in? The Price of Procrastination. Wasting time is just a click away. Wednesday, February 25, 2009. Hollyweird and a Bottle of Urine. The kids were fascinated by the skeletons and they especially liked the giant sloth being attacked by the saber-toothed cat (they don’t call them saber-toothed tigers anymore). We went outside to see Pit 91, a nearly-100-year-old dig that has produced the vast share of bones in the collection, nearly three million. There is some lavish mall next to the theater and we walked aro...
