mission jo'burg: about me
http://missionjoburg.blogspot.com/p/about-me.html
I'm doing voluntary mission work in Johannesburg, South Africa with an organization called Paradigm Shift. This Blog will chronicle this journey of giving more of myself to make others' lives better and i hope you'll join me on it. better yet, i hope you'll be inspired to make a small difference wherever you can! I'm driven by an overwhelming desire to find and follow God, and to explore a true, bare-bones Christianity that isn't consumed with condemning others, but one that's rooted in loving God and lo...

mission jo'burg: July 2011
http://missionjoburg.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
Friday, July 8. Dusty roads, big smiles and men with names like Obey, Active and Never are what come to mind when I think about my trip to Zimbabwe. I had the pleasure of traveling there for work last month to a small town called Beitbridge. On the South African border. The long drive through South African savannahs dotted with the mangled trunks of Baobab trees. Passing through towns where funeral parlours were the fanciest buildings made it all too clear that I definitely was not home. Sunday, July 3.

mission jo'burg: June
http://missionjoburg.blogspot.com/2011/07/june.html
Sunday, July 3. As quickly as it came, it went. June is the month that literally vanished…leaving me here looking at the calendar thinking "where did the time go? June also left a gaping whole in this Blog. I shamefully look at my last post date and think maybe June never happened. Oh, but it did. Disappointment after disappointment, broken promise of support after broken promise June. hit. hard. And brought with it doubt and fear:. Did I make the right decision? Support my mission work with Paradigm Shift. Over the next two years. Each of us is called differently, but i believe that each of us is called to give. some of us can give our entire lives or all/some of our time while some of us can give financially. no gift is too small to make a difference in some way. Consider supporting my mission work, and by extension Paradigm Shift. And the lives of Johannesburg's most economically marginalized communities. Here are some ways that you can give support:.

Friday, July 20, 2012. Part of the solution. A couple weeks ago i was really honoured to take some "behind the scenes" shots of a video shoot for paradigm shift, an amazing microfinance organisation that mobilises and equips churches to run micro-credit, business training and discipleship programmes with the entrepreunerial poor. I am amazed and inspired by their work and love that i can be involved with what they're doing in south africa. do yourself a massive favour and check out their website.

Drink More Tea, Eat More Chocolate, and Other Serious Lessons from 2013. Tell Me How You Really Feel! Are You As Crazy As I Am? January 18, 2014. The will of God. It’s a phrase us Christians throw around… a lot. It’s the safe answer when those dear sweet elderly women at church who have watched you grow up, ask you where your life is going or what you’re doing. Is God’s will anyway? And other than the Bible, does he spell out every little thing for us individually word for word? Be united with everyday.
