July 17, 2015. 1/2 cup margarine (1 stick). 2/3 cup shortening (Crisco). 1 cup brown sugar, packed. 3 1/2 cup sifted flour. 1 tsp baking soda. 1 cup chopped nuts (optional). 12 oz package chocolate chips. Cream together sugar, margarine, shortening, egg and vanilla. Add flour, soda and salt. Blend well. Stir in chocolate pieces and nuts.
