Brighter than Sunshine: April 2012
http://niveditaramesh.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Ask Think. Do. Wednesday, April 25, 2012. The Secret of Happiness. I've been mulling over the answer to this question for a while. We all want to be happy; who doesn't? But how do we get there? On the face of it there's nothing that some of us don't have. A loving, supportive family, comfortable and spacious homes, money for a decent life, good education, stable job. But more often than not we're sad, tensed, angry, depressed. Anything BUT happy. Why? Nevertheless, it's worth a shot.

Brighter than Sunshine: March 2013

Ask Think. Do. Tuesday, March 12, 2013. She stared at the warped reflection of herself, incredulous. She had heard so much about it all her corporate life, but had believed in the triumph of human spirit to belie its existence. After all, there are exceptions to every rule. Why cannot she be one? He had met her 2 days ago. To tell her that in his cheerful inimitable style that there was just no more promotion they could give her! Rhea will be completing college in a few months. She was planning to ap...

Brighter than Sunshine: November 2011
http://niveditaramesh.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Ask Think. Do. Tuesday, November 22, 2011. It seemed that Alexander McCall Smith found me instead of my finding him. Or rather his book found me. Where: Bookstore at Suvarnabhumi Airport, Bangkok, Thailand. When:Around 10pm local time. Here are a few gems:. Self doubt was a luxury, as perhaps, was the examined life. And yet the examined life, as the adage had it, was the only life worth living. Don't write - or say - any more than you have to. Just don't. A Poem, by A A Milne, the creator of Winnie the P...

Brighter than Sunshine: The Good Book
http://niveditaramesh.blogspot.com/2012/12/the-good-book.html
Ask Think. Do. Thursday, December 20, 2012. I recently got gifted an Amazon Kindle Fire HD. Needless to say I was thrilled to bits. The Kindle Fire was exactly what I wanted - a one stop shop to access and to read all books. I love reading, and over the years I have had a tendency to read multiple books at a time. The Amazon Kindle Fire HD does not smell of anything, and it is extremely smooth to touch. It needs to be charged every now and then when the battery goes low, and sometimes when the ebook ...

Brighter than Sunshine: May 2011
http://niveditaramesh.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
Ask Think. Do. Thursday, May 19, 2011. Slick, fast paced and compelling, The Adjustment Bureau is an absolute delight to watch. The film opens with David Morris (Matt Damon) preparing his concession speech as had run for the United States senate and lost. He meets Elise (Emily Blunt), a ballerina in the hotel bathroom and the two of them feel a strong connection. He then goes on to give an electrifying speech that pits him as a frontrunner for the next Senate Election. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Brighter than Sunshine: Forgiveness
http://niveditaramesh.blogspot.com/2014/12/forgiveness.html
Ask Think. Do. Saturday, December 13, 2014. We all do some things right, and some things wrong. Sometimes they happen so fast that it is all over before we know it, and sometimes it stretches like much chewed gum, on and on, getting thinner and more fragile by the second. But the one thing that binds both right things and wrong things is - they pass. They begin, they end and life moves on. Why are we so ready to forget the right things, and so slow to forget the wrong? Retribution. I dreamed of it...

Brighter than Sunshine: August 2012
http://niveditaramesh.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
Ask Think. Do. Tuesday, August 14, 2012. I have always been amazed by the perfection in nature – out of all the colours, shapes and sizes in the world, how did God pick just the right size and shape of the petals and the two colours that would all come together to create the perfect flower? Not to mention the leaves, the stem. everything in nature is so perfect. Why are we not so perfect? Why do only we have deficiencies, or weaknesses, rather, that leave us a breath short of perfection? View my complete...

Brighter than Sunshine: September 2012

Ask Think. Do. Friday, September 14, 2012. Why Bangalore needs buses. It's been two days since all drivers, conductors and mechanics of BMTC called a strike on, interestingly, demand for differential pay. When I first read the news of the strike yesterday I was actually thrilled. I imagined empty roads and myself on them, zooming away in my little black Reva. Bah! Bangalore needs it buses back. Brighter than Sunshine: January 2012
http://niveditaramesh.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Ask Think. Do. Tuesday, January 31, 2012. The ladder of mediocrity. Julie is a regular high energy, talkative 7 year old girl. She loves school (except for the strict teachers and the homework) and she has lots of friends. She loves swimming and playing with her golden haired labrador, Ceasar. One sunny Tuesday morning Julie is running around the garden shed at the back of the house when she spies a new object. A ladder. She eyes it curiously. It wasn’t there the last time she was here. 8221; Ceasar woof...
