霞神道流発祥の地「真壁」と夢想権之助

霞神道流剣術顕彰記念 左 と真壁城跡にある鹿嶋神 右. 真壁城で研鑚された武術の流名は、霞神道流と称し 武芸流派大辞典、日本剣客伝、並びに櫻井啓司氏 桜井大隈守の子孫 提供の資料参照 十七代城主真壁久幹が創始したもので、その系統は下記のとおりとなっている。 場所は茨城県真壁郡真壁町大字古城字本丸三七 番地であり、真壁城は真壁六郎長幹により承安二年 １１７２年 築城されたと言われている。 星霜移り、往時の姿を忍ぶものは本丸跡、及び内、外堀の一部となったが、隣接大和村の雨引山楽法寺 雨引観音 には当時の城門が 黒門 として残されている。 又、天正十五年 １５８７年 に天道流齋藤伝鬼房 当時三十八歳 は真壁の一党により殺害されたが、真壁久幹とともに桜井大隈守もその一党に名を連ねている。 黒門 左 と齋藤伝鬼房の墓廟 右.
神道夢想流杖道の歴史

夢想権之助勝吉は常陸の国(茨城県)真壁家の臣桜井大隈守吉勝の門人で、飯篠山城守 長威斎 家直を流祖とする天真正伝香取神道流の奥義を究め、さらに鹿島神陰流 鹿島神流または直心影流ともいう を学び、極意の 一の太刀 を授かったと伝えられる。 わが胸の 燃ゆる思いに比ぶれば 煙は薄し櫻島山 の作者 、平野三郎能得をはじめ、多くの志士を輩出した。 昭和十五年 １９４０年 には 大日本杖道会 が創設、これを契機に杖術が杖道と称されるようになった。 戦後の昭和二十五年 １９５０年 、警視庁に警察予備隊 現在の機動隊 が発足、同三十一年には助教制度が設けられ、杖道も再び盛んになった。 前列左から１人目 清水隆次、３人目 白石範次郎、４人目 嘉納治五郎、６人目 刀匠の左慶一郎、後列４人目 高山喜六。

記念写真 左 と普池の窟の額 右. 筑波山神社の宝物写真帳が発見され、その中に神道夢想流の開祖夢想権之助が奉納した大太刀が含まれている との第一報が杖道界に伝えられたのは、昭和五十八年 １９８３年 ８月３０日付、同神社宮司青木芳郎様の神之田師範宛手紙による。
