It was a tiny base, a detachment to the larger RAF Bentwaters. Both of the bases were returned from USAF to RAF control a few years after I left (the Cold War having come to an abrupt end while I was stationed in Europe – I don’t take full credit.). C) A hardened aircraft shelter (HAS) that housed A-10 Warthogs.
