Shirkoak Fisheries Blog - Update; 2nd November, 2012. November 2, 2012. Winter seems to be upon us. Temperatures have dropped dramatically and the fish are becoming more reluctant to bite however, we are still recording reasonable catches up to 15/16lbs. One or two of you have promised photographs for the gallery which I haven’t seen as yet. It’s not too late. Please send them in. You can see the photographs in the website gallery. Shirkoak Fisheries Blog - Update, Tuesday, 18th September. September 18, 2012. I’ve only recently returned from visiting my mother in Scotland and have been trying desperately to catch up with all the news. The weather there was atrocious which was made worse because everytime I checked the weather reports I was told you were enjoying 28/29 degrees of sunshine in Kent. My wife, Amanda, tells me the lake has been busy, particularly last Saturday, and that some substantial catches were made.
