Shirley D. Maier. Landscapes are done on location, "plein air", using a limited palette and in the studio. Painting in the studio allows the use of a larger canvas, commission work, and the creation of mixed media pieces. Series include, La Jolla scenes, Secret Gardens of La Jolla, San Diego coast and inland scenes, Northern California scenes, vineyards, southwestern, and studies created from traveling experiences.
