QUIET THOUGHTS POETRY: Thoughtful passage
http://quietthoughtspoetry.blogspot.com/2012/04/holiday-time.html
Tuesday, 17 April 2012. Holiday Time where shall we go? To escape from all our work and woe,. Out come the brochures to tempt us away. But it all depends on how much we can pay! Faraway places take lots of cash. In present climes we can’t be rash. So we have a look nearer home. To see where we can tour and roam. Seaside, Country, Village or Towns. Climbing mountains or walking Downs. We can travel by coach, train or car. To go where we like near or far. Yes it’s nice to go away far and wide. Lighten our ...

QUIET THOUGHTS POETRY: Thoughtful passage

Monday, 19 March 2012. The daffodils are a breath of spring. As good a sight as bird on wing. Their yellow faces seem to say. We’re here at last to make your day. They grow in groups amongst the grass. Giving joy to all that pass. Standing tall heads held high. Reaching up towards the sky. They dance and sway in the breeze. As if to say “look at us please”. They surely help me to smile. And forget my problems for a while. Those elegant blooms so tall and so bright. Provide passers-by with a glorious sight.

QUIET THOUGHTS POETRY: Thoughtful Passage
http://quietthoughtspoetry.blogspot.com/2013/01/thoughtful-passage.html
Wednesday, 30 January 2013. ODE TO OLD AGE. My brain feels young but my bones feel old. I go to do things and feel so bold. But after a while I just need a rest. I really do think old age is a pest. My aches and pains I try and ignore. But working them off does not shut the door. My head tells me clearly do have a go. But my furrowed brow I try not to show. If you are young at heart as well as head. At times it's easier to put AGE to bed. But when shoulders seize up and knees start to creak. Lighten our ...

Monday, 21 May 2012. We met and married a long time ago. We worked long hours and the wages were low,. No TV, no wireless, no bath; times were hard,. No holidays abroad, no posh carpets on floors,. But we got coal on the fire and we didn’t lock doors,. Our children arrived, no pill in those days,. And we brought them all up without state aid,. They were safe to go out and play in the park,. Old folks could go for a walk in the dark,. No Vallium, no drugs, no LSD. We cured our ills with a good cup of tea,.

QUIET THOUGHTS POETRY: SHIRLEYS HUMOUR PASSAGE
http://quietthoughtspoetry.blogspot.com/2011/06/shirleys-humour-passage.html
Monday, 20 June 2011. I’ve been to see the doctor, I haven’t been so well. When I told him my symptoms he really gave me hell. I cough and cough from morn till night I just can’t get my breath. And in the mornings when I wake I really feel like death,. My doc gave me a lecture and said trouble I would get. If I don’t stop my habit of just one more cigarette. I puff away all day I puff away all night. When I look in the mirror my tongues a dreadful sight,. I sneaked off in a corner and had another drag.

QUIET THOUGHTS POETRY: SHIRLEY'S HUMOUR PASSAGE
http://quietthoughtspoetry.blogspot.com/2012/03/shirleys-humour-passage.html
Monday, 5 March 2012. THE ODD JOB MAN. The Odd Job Man comes and goes. Where he comes from no-body knows. He has so many talents with which to shout. So whatever the problem he helps us out. He can repair a fuse, mend a leaking tap. He really is such a helpful chap. Whatever the problem he’s able to cope. So instead of despair he gives us hope. It could be a door come off its hinge. Now that’s enough to make anyone whinge! It might be the woodwork looks a bit grim. As one job gets done another appears.

QUIET THOUGHTS POETRY: Thoughtful passage
http://quietthoughtspoetry.blogspot.com/2012/04/thoughtful-passage.html
Monday, 9 April 2012. The world could stand still for a day. With time to think and time to say. Our deepest concerns of the way life is led. Instead of keeping it all unsaid. People had time to listen and care. To think of others and be aware. Of the needs of people requiring an ear. Which would help to ease worries and fear? We could think how lucky we are. To have made our journey and got so far. Be able to hold our heads up high. And reach our aims before we die. We had time when we get wrought.

QUIET THOUGHTS POETRY: February 2012
http://quietthoughtspoetry.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Monday, 20 February 2012. When winter is over and the sun starts to shine. Our homes always look a bit drab. The woodwork looks fine and the walls really shine. But to others the paint brush they grab. When I hear the words satin or matt. White spirit, sugar soap and Thinner. I know that I’ve lost so just count the cost. On this subject I am surely no winner. The smell of the paint is so strong. I have no choice but to leave. It has to be quick or I’ll be very sick. As I’m already starting to heave.

QUIET THOUGHTS POETRY: SHIRLEYS HUMOUR PASSAGE
http://quietthoughtspoetry.blogspot.com/2011/05/shirleys-humour-passage.html
Monday, 23 May 2011. I’ve just stood on the bathroom scales and oh I’m in a state. I’ve never had such a surprise as when I saw my weight. I’ve doubled it in a fortnight I seem to be such a size. When I was over eating it really was not wise. I had a very serious think and came to one conclusion. A visit to a slimming club must be the right solution. They put me on a diet to help me lose three stone. I only hope it doesn’t make me look like skin and bone. I came to one stage when I tried a toasted slipper.
