04/11/15 – Seoul: Hongdae. Posted on April 11, 2015. Kathy and I spent a day walking around Hongdae, a neighborhood known for its vibrant culture. It’s one of the trendiest neighborhoods in Seoul, filled with eccentric food stalls and clothing shops, the streets packed with students, neon signs, Karaoke bars and fried chicken restaurants as far as the eye can see. Lunch at a traditional bokkeumbap spot. CHILSENG CIDER. Seriously, where in London can I find this? Stores literally on top of other stores.

05/10/14 – philippines: first few days. Posted on May 10, 2014. After over 24 hours of traveling, my mom and I finally made it to Cebu. After Cebu, we took a ferry to her home island, Leyte. Our ride from the airport. My mother’s home she grew up in on the island of Leyte. Our ride to the jungle. We had a picnic at a little camp on the San Agustin river. John Paul, one of my nephews. Our picnic site, right next to the bank of the river. There are few things better than this super fresh grilled fish.

Korea is one of the leading countries in new technology (hello, Samsung! So on our way to Myeong-Dong, Kathy and I stopped by the Yongsan Electronics Market. It’s a giant sprawling space of indoor and outdoor malls with stall after stall of any type of technology you could dream of. 07/08/14 – windsor & eton college. Posted on July 9, 2014. I was very lucky to get a tour of Windsor, a beautiful town a little west of London, and Eton College (a private school, in American speak). I was guided by two good friends who are Old Etonians, so I was able to get a very informative and personal view of the college. This was the first sight I saw walking out of the train station at Windsor: the casual Windsor Castle. Windsor is separated from Eton by the Thames. Eton is pretty damn majestic.

09/30/14 – surprise trip to san francisco. Posted on September 30, 2014. It’s been a busy summer, but earlier this June, Alexis, Kathy, and I made a surprise trip to visit Sam in San Francisco. She had literally no idea we were coming, which made the trip all the better. Chillin in the Tenderloin. Driving is crazy scary in San Francisco. Honestly how do people have small cars here? Brunch at Brenda’s Soul Food Kitchen. In the Tenderloin. Fried catfish benedict was the truth. Biscuits and chicken gravy.
