July 9, 2015. Yesterday I helped a man get a job and break the cycle of unemployment. Felt really good. He was around my age and deserved a fresh start. I think he will do well there. He needs 1 or 2 good years there and can move on. Met with a new client whom wanted to do something goo with his life. I refrained from asking what good meant for him. June 7, 2015. October 15, 2014. May 21, 2014. One of the most enjoyable places I get to visit is Belkin House. I would jump at the chance to volunteer here when work permits. We prepare meals for the residents here in their spacious professional kitchen. There is something about this place that makes me feel better helping people with their most practical needs. Now, I haven’t even been accepted into the program yet and I’m already seriously considering quitting after taking this intro HR class. I feel as miserable as I did last year at my crappy job. At least with the job, I was making money. Imagining the finish line makes me feel indifferent. I feel… deflated.
