The last month has flown by mainly because we've had our noses to the grindstone and I had a list of a million things I wanted to do, half of which simply haven't happened. Thursday, October 1, 2009. Started the shoe course today! Meet my fellow shoemakers, one American guy called Seiji and one Canadian called Andrew. Seiji has been at the shoe studio for about 3 weeks and Andrew arrived on Tuesday. They are both staying in the hostel recommended to me by the shoe man (Marcell), the general consensus being the only good thing about it is that it's near to the studio. Feel quite smug. Off to do my homework now, 10 oxford shoe. Designs need to be done for tomorrow morning.

Thursday, October 8, 2009. I got off the bus early on the way home tonight to walk over the bridge and take in the surroundings. The city is really nice at about 5.30 pm at the moment, bathed in beautiful golden light. My local supermarket has a permanent cheesey disco soundtrack, did my shopping tonight along to The Bee Gees' "You should be dancing" and "Last night a dj saved my life" by Indeep! Monday, October 26, 2009. I have FINALLY finished the first pair. (Apologies for missing out a few stages on the blog, I was knackered and forgot to take pics). Went to the studio on Sunday to get them done. There are quite a few mistakes but overall for my first handmade welted pair they turned out pretty good. I even received compliments from the master shoemaker on his blog. I am staggered and pleased as punch, it's made all the work worthwhile. November 1, 2009 at 11:34 AM. Those shoes look amazing!
